@coin-investor - scores were, 115-113 Berinchyk, 116-112 Navarrete and 116-112 Berinchyk.

But I do agree that we have been overshadowed by the Usyk vs Fury mania that we forget this fight. Navarette is moving up in weight and for the WBO belt. I was shocked by the result though, I thought that Navarette will be doing good as he doesn't need to drain himself at 130 lbs.

So it's a double celebration for Ukraine, as both of their fighters won, Usyk - unified Heavyweight, and now we have Berinchyk - WBO Lightweight. And last week we have Lomachenko winning the IBF Lightweight. We now have 2 Ukrainian champion at 135 lbs.

We are all so absorbed in the Fury—USYK fight that we forgot to see this fight. I watched the telecast four hours late, and it was probably one of the sloppiest title fights I have ever seen; both fighters were swinging wild punches.
I'm surprised by Navarette's poor showing in this fight. He was exhausted in the championship rounds, which Navarette usually dominated in his past fights; Berinchyk shows he is the better finisher.

Berinchyk won via a split decision. It was a close fight; neither fighter was not confident that they'd won the fight
just look at their poker face while the scores were being read.

The scores : Scores 115-113 Berinchyk, 116-112 Navarrate and 116-112 Berinchyk. 114-114 .

It's two weeks before the match between Navarrete Vs Berinchyk this is Berinchyk US debut I'm sure he going all out to capture the US market.

By the way, the undercard is also very interesting it is a battle of undefeated fighters, these may not be popular names in boxing but they soon become popular, if you notice on all the cards only Navarette has a loss in all the fighters but make no mistake about it, he is a great fighter and holder of the record of the most punches thrown in one fight.

Giovanni Santillan might also be a must watch in this undercard, as he is the co-main event here.

He is rank number 6 by WBC and number 4 by WBC and number 1 by IBF at 147 lbs, so his name could be in the top contender in the next following year, although if I'm not mistaken, he has been in the boxing for several years now but hasn't been given the chance to crack for the belt.

        -  Of course, having a lot of experience is always only in that kind of fight; it seems that he knows better and has an idea of the moves of those he has fought compared to the few who have fought in the boxing ring. But it is still difficult to be sure because it is also difficult to underestimate the opponent.

So it's still good to be careful. And for sure, Navarette also watched the previous fights that he will compete in this year. So that he knows which strategy he can use to get through to his opponent when it comes to the actual fight as well.

Fight is still far though, we haven't seen the kick off press conference yet, but for sure Navarette is very happy in moving up in weight as he will not have to drain himself again and have that chance to crack for another belt.

That was always the issue when he was in the Featherweight division and surprisingly he still performed better than expected, with Navarrete's frame and builds he can go up further but the higher you go up the more challenging opposition you're going to face.
He is still good in the Lightweight but he will be facing tough opposition trying to unite it, with Tank Davis and Shakur you'll have a very tough challenge ahead.

And the higher you go up, most likely you will lose your power as well, his frame is somewhat in between, but we have seen the he indeed has problems with making 130 lbs. Although he could have clean it up the division at Jr. Lightweight and fought O'Shaquie Foster, the risk is very high for him.

So better move to the new division Lightweight become a champion with his chance here, then maybe fought rank boxers. But it will be very difficult for him as we have Tank and Shakur as well or others as this division is pretty much stack up. However, he was given a chance by the WBO so why not take advantage of that.

As we have seen, Navarette cannot easily stop his opponents lately unlike when he was at 122 and 126. He's got a huge frame so he can move up. But he will becoming slower.

It would've been great if Navarette tried unifying the belts at 130 first before moving up into another division. But his team also knew that he seem to have reached his limits already and is becoming beatable lately. So it is better to lose trying to get a belt in another division than lose to another champion at 130.

If Navarette becomes the WBO champion at 130, he might only face the IBF champion since Kambosos and Loma are with TR. WBC champ Shakur already said that he will not renew his contract. While the coward and cherry picker WBA email champ Tank Davis keeps hiding under the PBC umbrella. Cheesy

Yeah, it was really a good decision by the team to move him up, and he admitted that he has time making the weight that's why there is sign like in the Wilson fight that he is vulnerable already.

So he is really stepping up the plate and the competition here starting with Berinchyk. And he will be the favorite here and becoming a champion here will open doors for him and obviously bigger paycheck as the risk is going to be bigger as well as he will face bigger names.

Navarrette has fought better fighters than Berinchyk, Berinchyk is aggressive and loves to slug it out but Navarrette has fought the toughest in the divisions where he campaigns and one of these is the match against Dogboe, their classic two fights has won me the heart of many boxing fans.
I'm not saying this is an easy fight for Navarrete but he has enough skill and power to beat a fighter like Berinchyk.
I voted for Navarrete to win by knock out, Lightweight division will give him a lot of challenge, Kambosos and Loma are still tough contender for this division.

I'm looking at the odds from our favorite sports bookies and so far it hasn't been listed yet. But just like the rest of you, I think he will be the favorite in this fight as I do agree that the level of opposition of Navarette is so much better, not just against Dogboe but against Liam Wilson as well. It was a back and forth war and Navarette even went down in that fight, but recover and won.

I would've preferred Navarrete to unify all the belts and become the first undisputed at 130 in the 4-belt era. But it is hard to make because of the politics in the sport.
The only way to do this is if you have a strong appeal on the PPV and gate sales but if you're just an ordinary fighter it's unlikely that these organizations and promotions will give you a crack to become an undisputed champion, fighters like Canelo and Crawford have proven themselves in PPV and gate sales something Navarette will have a hard time to do.

Quote
Loma is already old so maybe Navarrete has a chance. Tank is a coward but seeing Navarrete becoming beatable in his last fights, he will jump on the opportunity. I see Shakur as the real dog at 135.
Lightweight could be Navarrete's final stop to win titles if he goes further he will be overwhelmed by the opposition just like what happened to Mickey Garcia who won titles in 4 division but could not make it five because the next weight category is loaded with tough fighters like Errol Spence, who stopped him in his welterweight quest.

Wow! Emanuel Navarrete is really keen on becoming a 4 division world champion. Navarrete has vast experience when it comes to world title fights so he should be the favorite here but lately he is also showing signs of vulnerability. He was badly hurt in his first fight at 130 before changing the tide of the fight and was also losing on points on his last fight but thanks to his 2 knockdowns he settled for a draw.

I always hear Berinchyk's name but I haven't seen his fights. He is an Olympic silver medalist so he is armed with good skills. Sadly he does not have the fan base and was probably managed poorly. It took him 9 years before earning his first title shot. At 35, Berinchyk is physically not the same but maybe being the regular guy in this weigh class enables him to become stronger than Navarette who loves to come forward.

Me thinking as well that Navarette might be swallowing more than he can chew. 135 lbs is pretty much stack up right now, so props to him for moving up in weight very quickly. He might win this fight, but who will be next, Tank Davis is the face of this division, but there's Zepeda, Frank Martin or Loma.

So we will see how far can Navarette, no doubt that he has the tools, power and being a brawler, but this new weight class would be very different for him as there are more technical fighters that he might face in the future.

He is a very disciplined fighter and he wants to challenge himself so he is moving up to cover more territories but I believe this is the farthest that he can go, there are a lot of oppositions in the higher weight category and I don't think he has all that it takes to beat the like of Tank Davis or Loma.

Everybody wants to be like Manny Pacquiao the 8 division World Champion, but so far I have not seen a fighter of this generation, who can do this, you have to start in the Flyweight division and have a good muscle build-up to be able to sustain going up, and of course, you have to be an extraordinary fighter like Manny Pacquiao and of course lucky break.

8 division is difficult to break. It would take generations to break or even tie it. If there is someone that has the potential at this moment, it is the undefeated Junto Nakatani of Japan. Still 26, has the height, heavy handed, has great skills and is already a 3 division champion.

That should be the goal of Navarette, however, when he had that moment against Liam Wilson that me might lose his belt, maybe it's a wake up call for him. Although he had a good win against Oscar Valdez, but against Robson he is again very close of being defeated.

So he jump to the next weight class, had a chance to become a champion again. But after this, it's going to be a challenge as other big punchers in this division will go after him because of the WBO belt.

It's more of a ambition of a fighter, and yes, they want to challenge themselves on how far they can go. Even Inoue himself, top pound for pound, might not go as high as we can think of. Sooner or later they will step on a weight class that they really don't belong. Zepeda will be a big test for him before taking more challenges like Tank or Shakur.

And it just shows how different Manny is, maybe once in a lifetime that we can see a fighter that started like 112 lbs and move up as high as 154 lbs, move up in weight and capture 8 belts and still has a lot to offer as there are reports of him fighting Conor Benn.

Berinchyk is good but not good enough to beat a boxer like Navarrette, Navarrette has been to a lot of great fighters, one of the fights I like is his matches against Dogboe, Dogboe is very aggressive but he knows how to weather aggressive boxers he is a very technical fighter and his ability to throw a lot of punches will overwhelm Berinchyk but this is going to be one hell of a match.

I am betting on Navarette as well but I think it will be UD. But of course, KO option is always open in any boxing match. As Navarette has more fights than Berinchyk, I can say Navarette has higher chance but he should not take this fight lightly. As a challenger, Berinchyk may have his rigid training and be well-prepared for this fight.
38 fights compared to 18?  When it comes to experience then Navarrete would really be having the upperhand. Just like been said that he's a technical fighter and really having those speedy punches
but as we do all know and able to see that there are really boxers which does have that fight gap or experience in between but still ended up on being beaten or lose.
It would really be just that a normal approach that he shouldnt really be taking lightly on Berinchyk but honestly i do expect on KO on this fight or
just like on what you have said about having UD in the end.

And the level of opposition as well, Navarette has fought a lot of world class fighter, as compare to Berinchyk who I say faces less quality opponents and that's why he had that good knockout percentage, specially early in his career. We haven't seen Navarette taking his opponents lightly, maybe some hiccups, but still he ended as champion again. This time, his weight could have been issues and so he need to go up in weight against Berinchyk. I try to check what the odds is on my favorite crypto bookies, but so far it hasn't listed. But I think Navarette will be a huge favorite going into this fight even though he is the one going up in weight.

Navarette is not technical though, he is more of a brawler type of boxing, typical of a Mexican warrior mentality, and that's why fans love to see his fight. He was knock down by Liam Wilson in their fight and we thought that Navarette is going to lose his belt. But he comes back and win by a knockout himself.

Berinchyk is also a very good fighter, so this might be another war. But it might favor Navarette as he likes this kind of fight, back and forth and nobody giving an inch. And if he will caught Berinchyk here, he might go down for sure as Navarette throws heavy bombs every time.

Odds are not yet out, but I think Navarette will be favoured on this fight. Bookies may list this later as it in lightweight division, where they are mostly not being given too much attention by bookies.

Emanuel Navarrete will face the challenge of Denys Berinchyk on Saturday 18th May 2024 in San Diego. he is gunning for his fourth title but it's not going to be easy as he is facing a dangerous and unbeaten fighter in Denys Berinchyk

I believe this match is worth a discussion as it has the making of an epic fight Denys Berinchyk is gunning for his first title and he is as hungry as Navarette.

Navarette is the favorite for this fight but he is fighting a tough fighter who is very aggressive and can take punches so Navarrette needs to do what he does best and that is throwing a barrage of punches as he is known to set the record for throwing punches in one fight.
