Thanks!

I think with this plugin I will have to run ads through it to help defray the cost. But I want to be completely open about the ads.

So the coloring of the tiles will tell you something about the search results. One color for ads, another color for exact matches, and a third color for null or weak matches.

What do you guys think? If the ad-idea is ill received I will try to figure out another way to monetize it.

http://www.api.bitcoinbulletin.com/apps/btcsearch/

search for "hd 5830" returns two cards in the middle and bunch of unrelated stuff around. doesn't display cost

I will be adding the cost later, which is something that my web-crawler can figure out.

Also consider making a directory, personally for me that plugin is kind of useless showing items at random, its cute, don't get me wrong but I prefer to browse categories of merchants/items.  Searchable will be great too unless you're using mysql's full text search which will be painfully slow on any large db table.

The live feed is there to show that I have the database built. I am working search functionality so that anyone can browse through the entire database, and will release the HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL version in a ten to fifteen minutes :O

The live feed has a purpose though. In the earlier days when there was less than 1,000 items it created the illusion that the community was stocked with merchandise. Now the feed serves a different purpose. It helps out bitcoin stores by giving them free impressions.

Bitcoin
Soon I will be unveiling a beta search engine at searchbitcoin. If the release is successful, and people find the searches useful, I will relase a website plugin at search bitcoin like the BTC Economy plugin, so that anyone can add search functionality to their website!

can't wait!  Grin
