I vote for monitor.coinplatform.com which is SEO wise since the word "monitor" is more famous than "rate" base on trend.google.com.

People have different preferences and the choices is almost identical so it will still give you a headache on choosing the name even after you saw the result of the poll since the your preference as an owner still will govern.

I reckon webtricks' about it being a sub domain. Doesn't really matter if it's rates or monitor but the 'rates' more appropriate though if the page is all about the rates or pricing of most cryptocurrencies. If you also plan to make a page and naming it 'monitor', I think the content is likely to be charts or news that everyone likes to monitor.

When do you plan to launch this website of yours, op?

I vote for rates.coinplatform.com, but I prefer a subdirectory over a subdomain.
my POV as a visitor, I feel more familiar with a subdirectory rather than a subdomain.

also,

"The subdirectory strategy concentrates your keywords onto a single domain while the subdomain strategy spreads your keywords across multiple distinct domains. In a word, the subdirectory strategy results in better root domain authority"

While I agree that sub-domains/url don't matter even its rates.coinplatform.com or coinplatform.com/rates or coinplatform.com/exchange-rates but having keywords on the url makes it more visible on search and it can also acts as a ranking factor on search engines.

What you should focus is the content of the page, how reliable or accurate your info and prices are.

Our vision is very close to the suggessions we got from you, guys. Accurate data and problem resolved by the service are foremost. Regarding subdirectory, it is really better from the user's point of view. On the other hand, subdomain is necessary when it comes to a standalone service as a part of root project.

The service to be launched in 3-4 weeks from now. We are going to publish a news once it is released.

However, please note the "coinplatform.com" isn't a real service domain. It was used as a placeholder to provide a subdomain/domain structure for the topic.
In case you would like to take a part on beta testing, send me your email address, and I will forward it to our team for beta-testing registration (we will ask you to provide a feedback after testing).

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

Sub-domains don't matter, no one notices them mostly. I guess since you are planning to host your service on sub-domain, it isn't your primary service. So go with any of the two, what matters more is how good and accessible is your service. If you adequately advertise it and put it with explanatory title in your site's menu; people gonna click it no matter whether it takes them to monitor.coinplatform.com or rates.coinplatform.com.

I would go with "rates.coinplatform.com", too. It seems to me that the prefix "rates" better defines the service being offered than the word "monitor".

Question: What would be the

heading of that specific webpage? If you're going to use the "Cryptocurrency Exchange Rates" heading, then the rates.coinplatform.com option would be a better fit, solely from the "rates" word alone as it would be more memorable for the user.

As for the "monitor.coinplatform.com" option, that could still work if you're going to use an

heading such as "Monitor Cryptocurrency Prices" or something like that. I'd personally prefer "rates" though as it's shorter and the word simply fits more to your niche.

A good title is one of the necessities which is considered as the frontline of your service and will get the attention of people who needs it. I will go for rates.coinplatform.com since we are already talking about rates and for some reason if you say the word "monitor" the term is more general which others might think of a different subject aside from the rates.

People would easily get the idea with the one that has the word "rate" if the one that they are looking for is related to it but changes and movements should also be part of the landing page as another feature of your service which would make it as a one-stop and a user-friendly platform.

Thank you very much for your vote and the detailed explanation.

I voted rates.coinplatform.com since we are mostly looking at different coin and fiat exchange rates at different exchanges.

Thank you for your vote and explanation.

Which service name is more associated to the cryptocurrency exchange rates monitoring at your opinion? Imagine you can find a good rate to exchange crypto and fiat (both directions) on this service.

Please see Vote at the top.

Thanks guys!
