If it is about the change of your username, theymos can do it but he has done it for only well established members before. Members that are having low rank may not be able to have that benefit. But even if you will have the benefit, it may take time. I remember how it took people like The Sceptical Chymist a very long time before theymos changed his username. But my advice is that you should not have such in mind until you ranked up more and become well established.
Theymos has changed the username of a newbie before. He did it because it was related to privacy. I think the newbie used the combination of his name and surname as his username. So, it all boils down to the severity of your reason for name change.
I think you both missed it because if you read the OP’s second post on the thread or even the comments of others you would see that the OP made it clear that the issue has nothing to do with his username. It seems the OP is not willing to share the exact issue in public for privacy reasons. I don’t see the need for starting the thread if the OP can’t tell us what his challenge is.

My request has nothing to do with the PM history of others, absolutely nothing like that. Rather, it would be more serious.

If it was a truly serious request, theymos would probably have responded by now.  But I doubt it was.

If your request is still about deleting your account completely, I assure you that theymos will not respond to such requests. You are free to delete all your posts yourself and leave this platform, if that is what you want.

. Rather, it would be more serious.

So what's the purpose of this thread? I doubt this thread is going to change theymos mind of not replying to PM. If you want any more suggestions then you have to share some details of what's exactly the privacy concern or  if you can't do that then there's no point in this thread.

I have never seen that serious case you can't discuss openly than pm. Well it's only you who knows how important that could be to you but know that already your username is relatively private since you didn't make account with your real life name so it's already private.
But for any security issues or account related problems then I think you can just read topics similar to them at the beginners & helps section or even technical board section to get yourself guided. Do you know how many PMs that gets to theymos on a daily basis? If you know then you could be discouraged sending him pm especially since you aren't a reputable member here.

I have an issue related to privacy I would like to speak in PMs. I recently thought of a plan but rather not go through with it until I am aware of everything. It's been an issue for around 7 months now. I was told to create a thread here after I created a thread in the help section.
You need to pay attention to how effective the PM you sent about privacy you are talking about. If the problem you faced and sending a PM to solve the problem were very necessary, then he would have replied to you. Maybe the problem you sent him a pm about did not seem very effective to him. If something like this happens, then your pm has been ignored.

If the issue you are having a problem with is worth sharing, you can share the app here. There are many good people here, your problem will be solved from here. And if you sent a private message to change your name, your message will be waiting. If your message is waiting, then you will not get any response.

My request would have nothing to do with a username change.

In my experience: theymos probably reads it and responds when it's needed, but PMs are often ignored. So if you didn't get a reply, you can assume you're being ignored on purpose.
Judging by your topic history: if this is related to PMs you sent, I don't think Admin is going to help you as that would mean censoring PMs received by others.

I will PM you what exactly it is since you are a trusted member.

Wallet or forum privacy issue, Which do you mean? I think that's a start otherwise, your position in the request might be ignored so then you should air what nature of private issues it's then when it gets to be a private discussion one can actually volunteer in Pm in respect of keeping the concept secured if necessary.
Also, try not to be bendable my so guidians with your privacies else you might actually be mislead to the point of loosing it all.
I also hope you're aware that the META board section is specifically threads about the bitcointalk forum? So what sense of privacy do you encounter that can't be transparently discussed here?
For your own good, be careful when you seek for help in the public and a user is requiring you to get in Pm for help.

I have an issue related to privacy I would like to speak in PMs.

It's simple:
* If you want to send new messages and want them private, encrypt them. It's clearly written on the PM page that this is the solution.
* If you want old PMs become more private... well, I don't think that theymos will help you because he doesn't like censoring and also doesn't like to create dangerous precedents.

And since this is common knowledge, I agree with Loyce: most probably your request PM was simply ignored.

The OP said this about 2 hours before your post:

Changing my username wouldn't solve this issue.

It's pretty clear that it's not about the username, and since he doesn't seem comfortable sharing the issue publicly, he said he would like to speak in PMs. So, there is no point in repeatedly asking him what he wants help with. We should let the admin or a moderator approach him and find out his issue.

Changing my username wouldn't solve this issue. I've PMed theymos (once in mid 2024, once 5 days ago) and I've waited a couple business days since I understand we all have lives. It's about post history and account status too if possible. After realizing everything I did improve privacy to the best I could during mid 2024.

So what's your concern, have you PM'ed the admin theymos related to your issue? What privacy concern is this, a username change request? If you already pmed theymos, then change the title of this thread and to get noticed at least to check your PM(s). Nothing we can do here tbh but wait until he respond and notice you.

To confirm, I suppose the next step is to change the title to include “@theymos”? I didn’t want to come across as annoying to him but it seems to be what a few people have suggested.
