I had problems with my s17s after a year (S/T15s were even worse!) Sold them all and moved to S19s. One failed during warranty and bitmain swapped it out very quickly.  It gets hot and humid here so I take extra precaution during the summer to keep miners under 95F.  Heat and humidity kills all miners.  If you are running where it is cold you should not have these issues.  I think they are about the same quality-wise. I really liked my first S19pro but then when the issues started I moved them to cool environment and have not had any problems for 4-5 months.

Appreciate the response. Didn't have many problems with my s17s. I'm in a cooler climate and my airflow is excellent where they're set up.  But when I did have a problem, usually after about a year, it was almost impossible to ship them out and get them back without heat sinks coming off in shipment.

I did do some research after my initial post and learned the S19 has a different heat sink design.  Got all my s17s sold on eBay, and ordered a few s19s from bitmain. Can't complain, I easily got 3x or more selling them than what I paid for them 12-18mo prior.

Was afraid they were reaching the end of their life in terms of reliability, so got rid of them before they were worth nothing.

As some of you may or may not know, I'm just a home garage miner, so I'm looking for some input from the pros.
I was running five S17+73's for a while, but as they age, problems pop up.  Temp sensor is usually the culprit.

So one of the units dropped a board and I just sold it running 2/3's as is to a guy for $3300 a few months ago. Felt that was fine. It was more than I paid for it.

Then another one dropped a board. Same issue.  Sent it out for repair and was told it had too many bad chips for them to repair. Got it back today and it sound like a box of marbles. Obviously most, or all of the heat sinks came loose during shipping.

So now I have one brick, and three running units.

I'm considering selling everything I currently have, before they also die due to age.

I did some math, and running two S19pro 100's would be more profitable than my current three S17s.

Money wise... I think I can sell my current set up for close to what I would pay for new S19's. The difference would be recoup'd in a month or two.

So my main question to the folks that know....please tell me the S19s have better heat sink engineering.  I'd like something to last more than a year before it gives me issues.
