YOU WILL NOT SEE A RETURN UNLESS YOUR POWER IS FREE.

IMO you should buy BTC and mine as a hobby.

Just for those who don't know, it's profitable to mine with new equipment if your electricity is less than $0.10 per kWh.
My mining equipment had a ROI about a week ago.

Again if your plan is to mine for profit you will lose.

IMO any real bitcoiner should be mining to secure the network and allow them a "vote" in where bitcoin goes.

Even just a new R-box is more than enough.

No miner out there will give you ROI now unless you get power for free.Just mine at home for fun like me and invest in a cloudminer you trust for making btc.

I've been mining with AsicMiner, and very happy the latest device the Block Erupter Prisma 1.4 T/s and between 1050-1100 W at the wall, (0.75-0.78 W/G,) @ about 1.4BTC per device.

If your want to mine for a profit, most people would be better off with a legitimate cloud mining service such as AMHash. huffdaddy5 gave you the numbers for SP20 (should be 1700 Gh/s not Th/s though) and S4. Compare the SP20 to AMHash:

Initial cost:
SP20: 1700 Gh/s for $964 = 0.567 $/Gh
AMHash 1.2 mBTC per Gh/s = 0.4512 $/Gh @ 378 $/BTC

Maintenance costs:
AMHash: $0.00163 per Gh per day = $2.771 per day 1700 Gh/s
SP20: Depend on cost of electricity, consumes 1152 W (1.152 kW * 24 hours * 0.10 $/kWh = $2.7648)

So, if you need to pay more than $0.10 $/kWh for electricity/maintenance, AMHash is cheaper than an SP20. There are other cloud mining services but most of them are ponzis. If you do go down that route, stick to the the ones offered by ASIC manufacturers (AMHash, Hashnest, KND Cloud).

Hey guys,

I know you'll probably tell me to look around but I haven't really found much.

I need to know as much info about the best miner out there.

I have a good amount to invest.

I want the best miner that will bring me the best return per day.

I also need as much info about it as you can give, as well as how to use and operate it.

If I choose your miner and it works out well, you may very well be getting a couple of gifts as well.

*not a service staff...*

Anyway,
For a couple of your minutes you could eventually make some money off me.

So yeah, please let me know!

Thanks Smiley.
It's not just about how much money you have to invest, but also in how much hardware you can accommodate.  Are you looking to build your own data center?  Lease space out in an existing one?  Mining at your home, or out in the garage?  Believe me when I say we ALL want what you're asking: the best bang for our buck.  It's also not just about the hardware, but what and where you are mining.  For example, do you mine BTC strictly on your own, taking the chance that you can and will find blocks, or do you choose a pool and join others?  Do you mine alt coins and exchange them for BTC?  Do you play the trading game in addition to mining?  Do you reinvest to get ever more efficient hardware and keep up with the curve?  Can the gear be resold?

You truly need to think about more than simply "what's the best miner?" because the miner is only one part of the equation.

I just started mining 2 weeks ago. I now have 3 antminer s4's and I recently purchased an SP20 which will bring me up to 7.7TH's.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_Hardware_Comparison

Although it's not the most up to date it shows a quick overview of most of the miners available. But as you read on this forum the majority consensus is the Bitmain Antminer S4 and the Spondoolies Tech Jackson SP20

I tend to look at GHs/Watt. Pay attention to how many watts the device uses per PSU because you'll still need proper electrical wiring and circuit breakers to support these ASIC beasts. For example if you only have a 15amp breaker you'll only be running 1 S4 or SP20 because they easily pull 1300-1400W on a breaker rated for 1650W(110V). As you begin to expand you'll start to realize you'll have to upgrade your electrical wiring to accomodate ASICs in a residential environment.

Both the S4 and SP20 come in at around 0.7W/GH/s

Antminer S4 ($1200 + $160 shipping) = 2000GH/s/$1360 = 1.47GH/s/$

Spondoolies SP20 ($695 + $119 shipping + $150 1300W PSU) = 1700TH/s/$964 = 1.76GH/s/$
(cyber monday price still available for SP20...$695)

If you can talk someone into giving you a $400 Antminer S4 coupon(Expires 12/15) then the pricing shifts back in favor of the S4 like so...
Antminer S4 ($1200 - $400 + $160 shipping) = 2000GH/s/$960 = 2.08GH/s/$

As far as usability the ASICs are very easy to setup. The S4 requires you to only have to plug in the power cable (14AWG gauge recommended and not included) and a network cable and then remote into the unit from your home network, setup your pool settings and your off and running in minutes.

I've not used the SP20 yet, but I assume its similar, except that I will have to plug an external PSU to the SP20 to give it power. I bought a Rosewill Lightning-1300 1300W 80 PLUS Gold PSU from Newegg for $182 to power the SP20. (P.S. you can pay with bitcoin on Newegg now!)

Look for more information on both of these miners on this forum as there are really good blog posts on each to help get started and configure.

Really 2 main ones with BTC

1) SP-20  - Advantage can really underclock will be usefull for a longtime
2) S4 - Advantage can overclock some, and is has a psu integrated.  Get a coupon if buying it's 400 off each.

One of those two is really best choices as I see.
