Hello Fellow Friends,

Thanks for your reply. I searched for some info based on your input and found "GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 Eagle OC 12G (REV2.0) Graphics Card with 2X WINDFORCE Fans, 12 GB 192-bit GDDR6, GV-N3060EAGLE OC-12GD REV2.0 Video Card, pci_e_x16" at price of US$511 including all taxes and shipping charges.

Model No.: GV-N3060EAGLE OC-12GD REV2.0
Memory clock speed: 15000 MHz

I understand that mining alt coins will be profitable after a couple of years when the price of alt coins will increase. I will start with just 1 graphics card now.

The price of 3070, 3080, 3060ti are little bit expensive and offers RAM 8Gb - 10GB. And above card gives 12GB RAM at lesser price.

So, please give your opinion on this card.

Thanks
David

Wait a week and you will realize that the price of $511 is a lot for this video card, and its payback will be more than 3 years.
If you have inexpensive electricity, then it’s better to buy 5 RX 580 8 GB video cards for $ 600. You will not be able to mine a lot of coins from 1 video card, but in addition to consuming 120 watts for mining, you will receive an additional consumption of 50-80 watts for the operation of the PC system unit

There's no guarantee of profitability, even after a couple of years, don't forget that.
But 3060 is good, I used to have one

How much is the 3060ti?
Maybe the difference will worth, because it's a better GPU, even with less vram
swogerino already explained to you, but just to add, it's right, vram doesn't mean the GPU is better, there's more
And talking about ETHASH for example, 3060 ti with less vram gives 60mhs easily, and 3060 only 49mhs, with 12gb

The Vram does not mean a lot in mining. It is the cuda cores (Nvidia cards) that do the job in mining mostly so it means that the 3060 despite being 12 GB will give an hash rate of 49 Mhsh while the 3070 despite being 8 GB will give an hash rate of 62 Mhsh.

The best card from the ones mentioned is the 3060 ti as it has the lowest power consumption at 115-120 watt and giving you 60-61 Mhsh but of course that depend on the price difference, even 3060 as a starting card is a great one so buy based on your budget but I wanted to make it clear to you that the VRAM is not what is the most important part despite being important as a 4GB card cannot mine Ethereum for example.

If you provide us more information, we can help you in a better way, because there's several things happening right now:

ETH the main altcoin to mine is changing to POS, and another coins can't absorb the hashrate of ETH without harming profits, there's only a few days left to mine ETH, so it's wise to wait just a couple more days, 2 weeks at least.
Nvidia can reduce prices even further and pre owned markets can be flooded again.

But if you want to buy no matter what, 3060ti, 3070 and even 3080 are good choices of cards that mine most algos, not only Ethash, and a possible better value to resell.
You need to compare prices too.

Please, post here about the prices of GPUs in your country, and if you're planning to mine with a single card, a rig etc...

The price is a bit wonky these days. I suggest you also wait for the new release of GPU from Nvidia or AMD before you purchase unless your local market price is very good. Make sure to calculate your theoretical profit too before buying any gpu so you won't be faced with unexpected power consumption with little to no profit.

hello, 6GB is enough to date to mine all the coins. The GPUs with the best price / performance and efficiency ratio are the 3070 and the 3060ti

Hello,

I'm planning to buy a new graphics card for alt coins mining. Can anyone please guide me suitable graphics card for either 10GB or 12GB memory? Also, estimate price too.

Thanks
David
