Almost certainly the transaction was never sent to the Bitcoin network.

You can check this by searching for the transaction id in a block explorer - if it was never propagated then you won't find it.

After a reset blockchain and transactions the transactions you have in your wallet should match what is on the blockchain.

Also, you might want to consider upgrading to MultiBit HD, as the network handling is a bit more robust and you see problems like this much less frequently.

I sent my btc to my address as normal and for some reason only 1 peer ever seen/confirmed and remained as a [] square shape, it wasn't a internet connection problem as i made sure my connection was working and restarted multibit, still the coins would not send.

I went to the multibit website and the support page said i should reset blockchain and transactions so i did, before this i made a back up of the wallet.
When i reset my blockchain the unconfirmed transaction dissapeared but the btc didn't return into my account.
The unfinished transaction is still to be seen in my back up wallet, I have had this problem before and i believe i had to make a double transaction to fix it but i cant remember how.
If anyone has had this problem help would be greatly appreciated.
