Glad to hear your enthusiasm. I'd be happy to do it if I lived in the area; but hopefully you'll find a taker there in town.

I would guess your total work time would be 4-8 hours.
This time quote is unrealistic however, you really need to consider the time it takes to buy the parts and then set up the SOFTWARE, which is quite different for each and every set of GPUs your run.

You haven't even stated your desired OS, either. It doesn't sound like you'd be comfortable using command-line or unix interfaces, so you'd need a license for windows and then use Bitminter as your pool/software for ease of use.

Then, of course, who will support your rig(s) if you have a problem in the future?

Lots to consider here... But don't let that stop you... Just accept that there is lots more to learn and get to it.

Good luck!

I'm extremely interested in Bitcoin and fairly knowledgeable about how it works. I have some capital and want to start mining bitcoins and litecoins, but I'm terrible with computers and need some help. I've been a bitcoin advocate since 2011, but when it comes to graphics cards and processors and power supplies and hash rates...well, my brain just doesn't work that way.

I need someone in the area who has a lot of experience mining bitcoins to help me assemble a rig. You need to advise me on what I need to buy, you need to assemble it, you need to set me up with a mining pool, and you need to be okay with me looking over your shoulder every step of the way and asking you stupid questions because I really want to learn how it works. I would guess your total work time would be 4-8 hours.

My wife and I will be in Clackamas (Portland, Oregon) starting April 15th.

Reward is 1 BTC at today's exchange of $140/coin

MUCH appreciated  Grin
