I suspect that you have come across this bug:

A couple of other people have noticed the same.
There isn't currently a workaround for it.
yes, I am having that exact thing happen to me. I just imported my private key on the original bitcoin client.

it doesn't have to be multibit. I just want to move my coins from blockchain.info to cold storage.

I am trying to import a key for blockchain.info in the aes.json format to multibit. When I try to do it, it doesn't give me any error message. In the help section it says blockchain.info wallets must download the entire blockchain. How do I do that?
