The number of bitcoin in the market is as is. There will be no lost and found database for it, I'll try to make it clear so you already bought bitcoin and it went to another wallet? I can't imagine on how you ended up wrecked after buying it went to another wallet. Likewise, I also assume that you visited and bought in a wrong exchange.  Undecided

Your transaction may be caught in a second layer or a payment gateway, depending on which exchange or medium that you used to purchase the Bitcoin. For example, when using a decentralized exchange like the WAVES platform, your Bitcoin gets passed through a gateway from your Account/Wallet on WAVES before it is sent to your external wallet. Could it be that your coins are sitting in a gateway?

I know it's been a week since you've asked this question, but I'm hoping that other newbies will see this post and not panic immediately when purchasing Bitcoins from a trusted exchange. And this should go without saying, but you should always do your due diligence about an exchange before purchasing any Bitcoin. A quick Google and forum search could end up saving you a great amount of money and trouble.

Check all of your accounts with exchanges and any other wallet you have access to. You can also post the address it went to into a btc explorer and see what addy it actually went to and if it moved from there. Unfortunately, there is no way to find out who the owner of that address is if it isnt yours as far as i know.

I think you go to wrong website. It's a scam, when you buy bitcoin it must go to the direct address or else it was your mistaken.

Dear Community,

Somehow I'm kinda shy to ask, but is there a database lost and found of bitcoins? The reason why I ask is because for a weird reason when I wanted to buy btc, it suddenly went to another wallet...

Thanks in advance

I sympathize with you, but it looks like your account someone hacked and stole all btc

Even that database exists, your coins will not be considered as lost because it was sent to another wallet which I assume still an active one. My question is, how sure you are that it was wrongly sent to another wallet?

a) self mistakes
b) you are compromised

We need more info's like anyone is mentioning here. We can't just answer you specifically out of guessing what really happened. We will wait.

There's no way to find out and prove if some bitcoin on a certain wallet is lost or not. Also, please give us more information. When you wanted to buy btc, what went to another wallet? Be specific.

And one more thing, bitcoin wouldn't transfer magically on it's own. Unless you had a bitcoin wallet on a certain device, and a hacker got access to your private keys one way or another, then sent the btc to the hacker's wallet.

Nope. There is no central authority that handles lost Bitcoins. For your case specifically, you likely got scammed, and if so, I don't think there's a way to get your Bitcoins back. Bitcoins that are lost are typically lost forever.

That being said, it's entirely possible that there was just a misunderstanding on your part, so if you could share what happened, someone may be able to help you. The exchange itself, if you used one, may even be able to give you your coins back depending on the situation.

If you provide more info we can try to check if the money has arrived to another address inside your wallet, if you made a mistake, you got scammed or your wallet is compromised.
However, the highest chance is indeed that your money was - in a way or another - stolen.

Bad news for you, btc isnt going to other wallet by itself, so there was your mistake in filling the address or youve been scammed. Try to check all your wallets, maybe you accidentally sent it to other one
