Is the file you're trying to open the same size as the one reported by Recuva, ie. 104k?

If you open it in a text or hex editor (after backing it up, etc), can you find any text matching "ckey" or "mkey" at all?

This might be a lost cause but I'll try to post here as a final resort.

So the other day my friend figured he had to format his computer for reasons. As you might understand from the post, he didnt backup wallet.dat. Then he ended up installing Skyrim on his SSD, where the previous wallet.dats had been placed. He used Recuva to recover the wallet.dat but according to Recuva it's unrecoverable (fucking skyrim) https://i.imgur.com/CX1f34V.jpg .

I did try however. I feel like my result was a little wierd though, i used pywallet and i believe i managed to set it up correctly. But when i ran the recovery prompt it didn't even say it found a wallet, so i'm a bit suspicious. I hope this is not due to the file being so utterly destroyed: https://i.imgur.com/SXEyLZy.png

If you have any idea whether it is resolvable or not, i'd be very grateful if you could inform me!

If you (a decently trusted member, please) believe you can resolve it i will send you the wallet and we can decide a fair sum of money if you're interested in that.

(It's a joint account for an investment by two poor students, I didn't get scammed)

If someone feels lik helping two poor students out: 144tXdPu3NSomggtTuE7SKiEbeF1xuzs4A

Thankful for any replies! Smiley
