i just stumbled over something:

my miner appears as a "HEXa" in cgminer. as far as i kno it should appear as a HEXc. Is it possible that this is my Problem? How can i get cgminer to accept the device as a "HEXc"?

EDIT:

IT WORKS!

Sometimes its those little things.

IF you encounter the same problem:

start cgminer with

"./cgminer --set_default_to_c"

that did the trick for me Smiley

anything here helps?Huh??

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3913578

also found this:

" if you have a linux host it will be best to just compile cgminer with the latest patch from Technobit"

I read that thread, along some others. and as i said, i ised the Technobit patches with cgminer (different versions, thats what i tried to show with "listing" in the starting post)

i tried different versions, howtos etc, none of them worked. as i said: IF i can make cgminer see the device, it doesnt mine Sad

thanks for the answer. i already did the first one, same result. the HEXMiner is Windows only, if neccessary, i will convert my mining laptop into a windows machine. this is a step i would like to take when everything else failed though Wink

the device gets recognized under several linux cgminer versions, but it just doesn't mine. is there maybe some special option i have to use?

Good morning fellow miners,

i just received my Technobit miner yesterday, and i am struggling to get it to work.
my mining computer is an old laptop, stripped of everything unneccessary and with debian 7
the device in question is a Technobit HEX16A2. if cgminer recognizes it, it shows up as:
Manufacturer: 'TECHNOBIT HEX ASIC Miner.'
Product: 'HEX16C-Avalon2 ASIC Miner'
1 known USB device

after trying out different cgminer versions (including the technobit patches) i got different results:

Also ich hab jetzt folgende Versionen ausprobiert (jeweils mit den laut Technobit dazu passenden patches) und verschiedene Effekte dabei gehabt.

cgminer 3.6.1 - device shows up as "HEXa", no hashing though - it will stay at 0.000 / 0.000h/s
cgminer 3.8.1 - Patch didnt work, patch process terminated with an error
cgminer 3.8.3 - device shows up as "HEXa", no hashing though - it will stay at 0.000 / 0.000h/s
cgminer 3.8.4 - device shows up as "HEXa", no hashing though - it will stay at 0.000 / 0.000h/s
cgminer 3.8.5- device shows up as "HEXa", no hashing though - it will stay at 0.000 / 0.000h/s
cgminer 3.11.0 - patch worked, drivers were included - device doesn't show up (also not showing up under "./cgminer -n")

I am pretty desperate right now.

any advice? It doesn't have to be cgminer, i take every working linux mining client. as long as.. well.. as long as it works..

EDIT: this is how cgminer looks:

thank you in advance
