Safety tip if you are building the nixie portion yourself by soldering the boards and such. Keep in mind the tubes use over 170V DC power. Although the high voltage power supply only requires 12V DC input, the output is 170V. Not enough to actually kill you but if you are not paying attention when working with them it can cause pain.

Don't as how I know :-)

Thank you ! This helped me a lot !
"If you don't know programming or how to setup an arduino then it is a massive undertaking."
Is there a place where I can find information about this part too ?

Arduino official website have such tutorial, https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/HomePage. As for Nixie Tube, website mentioned by @DaveF also provide manual at http://www.arduinix.com/Main/Assembly_menu.html.

You can get kits from here:
http://www.arduinix.com/
for the actual nixie tubes and the controller.

For the back end, you will need to pull data from an API from one of the block explorers and have the audrino push it to the tubes.
If you don't know programming or how to setup an arduino then it is a massive undertaking.

However, if you want to use an LCD with a RPi then there are a few open source price tickers available.
Since all you want is the number of blocks it's probably easier to build one of those and just hack the display code a bit to just display the block count.

Thanks for the links ! But I'm searching for more basic info, like how to actually building it, step by step. What parts I need, electronics and so on... Complete guide of building it.
If there is something like this, I will be really grateful for sharing it !

There are a few blockclock that I found on Github I don't know if this is what you looking for but you can modify and fork the source code.

Here's the list

- https://github.com/engenegr/python-blockclock
- https://github.com/lukasender/elixir-blockclock
- https://github.com/tomwhite/blockclock

Some of them are built on python.

Hi ! I want to build a blockclock for myself, with this type of tubes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixie_tube but I don't have a lot of knowledge to how actually doing it. All I want is to count the mined blocks. Nothing else. Can someone point me a source of information, or link to the parts that I need to get in order to build it ? Every piece of information is welcome ! Thank you !!!
