less work and already built community

They have already built community are you kidding me, do dead projects have a community to boast, I have been into so many dead projects right now and if they will announce that they are coming back, I will have second thought coming back, they did not even announce that they are leaving or they will make a comeback, only Jesus rise from the dead.

less work and already built community

Agree with somehow it can give less work for the people who want to build a crypto project but actually it's really hard to market since the project is dead already and provably there are haters build up since they lose some dimes on that project that's why I think it's really not worth to revive a project since it's waste of resources and time.

less work and already built community

Bingo.  This is simply the bottom line here and as a developer I only see these kinds of takeovers as a good opportunity to expand my crypto tech to new chains.  The trick is low risk, some reward.  If it works out and the community is behind the work I’m doing then I have an audience.  I could roll my own coin or something but the overhead on that is immense especially upfront.

I don't know why you would want to take over a dead project. There are already enough dead projects, why not start up a project of your own with a clean name and not the one that has lose its reputation.

These people need to stop thinking like they're going to relive the bitcoin pump and get to work on a coin.

lol copy pasta bro get on the cool kids train and stop spamming. anyways instead of wasting away good projects people need to pick up what they already have. some have good communities and some are already on good exchanges, so with that its a win win situation.

no offense but it seems to me like you are bag holding a bunch of dead altcoins that you want o see pumped. and for that you want others to make the effort. not to mention that even if a developer picked up a dead altcoin and started working on it, that still wouldn't guarantee any pumps because the pumps happen in coordination with pumpers and nothing else.
That makes sense! In theory, it will never work out. There is no correlation between the number of code commits and the price of the coin. Some coins with just an initial commit make it to the top buy the pumpers.

This makes more sense than I read everyone's opinion here, it might be true that he holds a big bag for that coin so he wants to revive the project, instead of raising altcoin that is dead and he throws it away after it comes back to life, if it has to be turned on again I guess it will only waste money, why not create another new project
Because he can't code and he won't be able to hold coins for the new project.

This kind of request is very funny. You don't even state your role in the project before inviting people. what makes the project to assume dead and what is the purpose of resurrection. Not much info is given

I think he is a bag holder of this project and wants to dump his bags, this is what happens if you are late dumping your bags of shitcoins, you will wait for the dev to come back and resurrect the project and if they did not they, they ask people to take over I'm speaking in general , not only for this coin but on so many coins as well.

If the project has Good team and sound fundamentals, it can't be a dead project. My point of view is that why to to take interest in dead projects when still their are some growing projects available.

Hey just trying to bring some light to some dead projects that need help.

ps. if the project was half decent then it wouldn't have needed help in first place!

Hey just trying to bring some light to some dead projects that need help.

There's a risk doing this, I don't believe dead projects should be resurrected, what if the original developers have a huge bags and he can dump it, and make him profit for the second time at the expense of the new developers and community, the original developers will be laughing his out loud for helping him dump his bags.

I think the community has enough dead projects. I think we need to pick them up and implement a feasible idea. You can check most of them out on coingecko.com
I wouldn't touch a shitcoin scam project with a 10-foot pole. They're more likely just white papers and a concept than an actual working implementation.

Anyways i would like to get some people to takeover some projects. The projects are as follows Liquid Regenerative Medicine, Hyperspace and Rapture. All of these prior listed have good communities and could probably make a turn around. Please check them out and let us know what you think. Thanks. Also you can send me a message if you'd like.
Are you paying for such a service? Would you hire people to work on them and get paid? As a developer, I wouldn't care how dead is the project as long as I'm paid for my work.

i am not familiar with any of these you mentioned here and you didn't provide any link for further information, but if you are really interested in what these projects were designed to do and IF you think there is some potential then it would be best if you started a new project from scratch rather than trying to breathe life back into a corpse.

Dead project must have inventory, the new owner should be able to access the remaining coins, know how many are in circulations, understand the reason the coin was abandoned or died etc

Some project are better left dead due to the liability the new owner will incur
I hope i am making some senses here ?

Can you post more information or websites links from these dead projects?
this is generally what you say, does not give us a lot of insight into what's on your mind. If someone interested, they want to know about which project you are talking, and then can make investigate by yourself and know is it worth any effort.

Is this even financially advisable for a team to do? IMHO if I see a dead project being revived back even by a new team I would still go away from it. If you can't see what I'm saying just imagine Bitconnect announcing that they will be managed by a “new” team with promising developments would you still be interested? Of course not their reputation died at the same time Bitconnect was discovered as a fraud. It would really be better on having a new project rather than reviving a dead one.

well i don't feel like taking too much time out of my day to explain what happened with DXO but none the less i think it's original dev abandoned the coin and then it was picked up by the new dextro team and now it's used as a form of payment for a Masternode Hosting Service.

Totally abandoned projects, devs picked it up and there you go.

you are confusing a shitcoin pump with devs picking up a project!
here is the link to the source code of the project: https://github.com/dextrocoin/dextro it only has 2 commits Cheesy
and the entire contribution of the creator over the past year has been only 7 times (including joining GitHub) https://github.com/dextrocoin lol.
if you check the forks there are none that did anything, they just copies. so you can't really say "devs" picked it up when there is no development being done whatsoever.

what you are looking at is a simple pump and dump group picking up a random altcoin (not dead) that has a value less than 100 sataoshi, then pump it at least 1000% within a week on average. then the downward spiral as the pumping group pulls out.
it happens almost every day with a different altcoin!

No it was originally abandoned.. The original dev abandoned it.

Are you a part of the team if not then maybe much better if you leave it since the dev already abandoned it already and it's no good for anyone to spend some time to revive those dead already since it will be messy for them to make those things work and people will provably will not look at it again so it's really best to let that project died and accept the fact no people will get an interest on it since it's so risky.

They're dead for a reason. Resurrecting it will only cost too much not to mention that the name of the project has already gone down the drain. Chances are better starting a new one but it will be even better to NOT start one. Way too many shitcoins now anyway.

Are these paid positions? Or are you looking for community contributors to invest their time in some sinking ships so you can milk some money out of them, or inject some value into your bags so that you can dump them and crash the projects once and for all?

Personally, I'd stay away from anything that is almost dead, it can only end in anger.

Devs is still active on Discord, I didn't know they were leaving him.
the last thing I know, he denominates his DXO coin 20:1 or 30:1 depends to whom. Sounds very scammy.
I am not sure why this dev is so arrogance, very bad communication and relationship to the community.

But that positive thinking of yours is high on risk which would result on total waste of time and money. Its better or worthy to build on your own and incase it fails, you wont have any regret.

Why do you think there's people will handle a dead project? for sure it will never profitable for the people who takeover it and for sure it will cost huge amount money before it will move but expect to be dead again since investors/traders are so done with it. And I think investors would prepare to create fresh startups and better to let your project died if that one is not profitable already.

Nobody wants a dead project, Cryptocurrency investments are all about trust and transparency, we can connect these dead and dying projects to scam projects who failed to sustain their project, even if they are funded, and besides those early investors will be disappointed because they will try to scam investors for the second time, so if you are a developer create your own and focus there instead of taking over a dead shit projects.

Taking a dead project can be a big risk. Accepting someone else's responsibility, especially the failed project is not a very promising perspective.
Probably you can't know exactly all the reasons for failure, also the possible problems that are not obviously visible.

Does anyone know of some projects who died and successfully revived?

There already are such people. CoinJanitor is one, for example, still alive today. Should probably contact them and join forces or whatever. Can't imagine it's easy to do on your own.

I don't really see the point in takeovers unless it's NOT a dead project. If a project died, it's likely because there was a better alternative that its developers and communities went to already.

I mean, if someone tried to revive Myspace, it would probably succeed. Just for the nostalgia. But that was actually a working product heh.

No one will be interested to a dead/dying project. Just build another project which has the opportunity to become a good one.
There is a lot of projects have already said their goodbye to crypto space. If the project was already dead/dying, there is no point to keep on holding and trying to revive it again.
