Cryptopia and Poloniex are some you can use as basic tools for your Bitcoin sources and exchanges. However, there are also others you might want to try.

GDAX.com - Coinbase's dedicated exchange. Low trading fees and no network fees.

Bittrex.com - If you pass their verification process: Good and fast exchange with a variety of altcoins/tokens.
If you don't pass their verification: Your account is a dead-meat aka GTFO.

cryptopia.co.nz - This is often the place to go, if you are looking for new altcoin/tokens, coins with lower trade volumes or coins with lower market cap.

Kraken
- seems reliable but somehow website down for me(lasted for 1 weeks+ )
A good exchange, however not stable. They have been struggling with sluggish and unresponsive platform for the past months.

Spectrocoins
- looks professional and have live support but have considerable amount of scamming issue especially involving large amount of BTC
Bad experience , so I'll say fishy.....

Other good exchanges which I've used are:

Gemini - a US based company which complies with US KYC laws (Know Your Customer)
Bitfinex is a good looking company which has had a lot of issues from hacks to KYC / bank transfer issues with US based banks.  I used them in the past and was very satisfied with them.

I suggest staying away from Spectrocoins, anything else is a good choice, you shouldn't care about hacks etc. Just buy and withdraw your funds instantly. It's people's fault If they keep their funds in exchanges, It's not a wallet, It's not meant for storing and keeping your coins safe.

Hello, I just started to get interested in bitcoin but not really going to invest heavily nor do any frequent trading. I'm just going to buy and hold on to them hoping for the best, earning some pocket money. I'm based in Europe and planning to invest maybe 200-300 euro on bitcoin and observes how it goes. I tried to do my own researched and sniff out as many exchange platform as I could but each and everyone of them seems to be have their own agenda. Here is the following list:

Coinbase
- the most popular one and beginner friendly but also infamous for having various fee

Bitstamp
- pop up in many recommendation sites but some users complained their extensive breach of privacy information and the site experienced minor hack before if not wrong

Kraken
- seems reliable but somehow website down for me(lasted for 1 weeks+ )

Spectrocoins
- looks professional and have live support but have considerable amount of scamming issue especially involving large amount of BTC

Bitpanda
- tried to buy once from this and liked it but can't pass the verification and the support almost non-existent so can't spend anymore than 50 EUR/month

Well that's all the exchange platform that seems good to me but after some researches almost all seems fishy... So can anyone recommend any better choice or reassure me which one the best? Taking account what I've mentioned above. Thank you.
