i know one thing for sure: pooler cpuminer is the best cpuminer there is  Cheesy
I don't want a CPU miner because GPU is more effective, unless I can have a CPU miner and GPU miner running at the same time.

Yes, but it is average value, it will vary over time, depending of block resolving luck factor.

Hello,

1. for lot of us cgminer is the weapon of choice. But there are others...
2. No one could answer that, but from my experience bitminter is ok for start. It has its own java miner app so if cgminer is a bit confusing to you, you could try it out.
3. Local one Cheesy Bitcoin-qt (I'm not fan of online wallets)
4. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison around 520-550 Mh/s, and no you will not get 0.1BTC per 5hrs. It will be at current difficulty around 0.006BTC per ~5hrs@550Mh/s
5. At stock valuse and only 1 GPU it should be 100% safe, but it also depends of ambient temps and case cooling.
Ok, thanks. So if I am in a pool and my computer is on for 5 hours I would get 0.006BTC

Hi,

I am new here and I have some questions to ask.

1) What is the best mining software to use
2) What is the best pool, the most rewarding, the safest, and the one that takes the least tax
3) What is the best bitcoin wallet
4) What sort of rate should I be expecting, e.g. will I get 0.1 bitcoin if I leave my computer on for 5 hours.
5) Is it safe, so if I leave my computer on for 8 hours straight will my computer not overheat or crash or something

Here is some specs that you may need to help me:

Where do I live: London, England

Computer Spec:

CPU - Intel i5 3570k (no overclock)
GPU - MSI 7950 (no overclock)
RAM - 8GB 1600mhz
motherboard - Gigabyte z77-d3h
HDD - 500gb seagate barracuda
PSU - Seasonic gamer series 550w

Thanks in advanced.
