It would be good to have. You never know when someone's network will fail. I don't like to miss a day or even an hour.

HW errors are totally normal and nothing for you to worry about unless you are seeing tens of thousands in a short time.

Do I not need three pool urls? is that a problem?

The others are failovers, you only need 1 as long as it is functional.

so i should have a different pool  url in case slush fails?
