Hello, I'm new to mining and need your advice I see a lot of people here saying it's not worth mining with GPU but here is my situation I have access to free electricity and I mean free and have a huge space that can handle the heat but I can't have ASIC miner as it illegal in my country but can build a rig what is your recommendation to me what to start with and the best parts like what is the best motherboard power supply and is there any tutorial in how to build it Thank you in advance.

Bro avoid all this hassle because as per what is everyone is saying and what is logical it is impossible what you want to do, what you can do is go for hosting solutions, I am the account manager for https://minershub.ae/ I can get you a really good deal if you want to, contact me so we can sort it

Unfortunately right now in mining on video cards there is a very long payback even on free electricity.
The best profit is on asics now. Asics are noisy and you will probably need water cooling to avoid the noise.

Or you can avoid the noise with hosting solutions Smiley

Free, as in beer, is not the same as free, as in speech. If ASIC miners are not permitted then GPU rigs would probably
be treated the same way. The issue is likely the abuse of free power, not the kind of device used. Either way your GPU farm's
power usage would attract a lot of unwanted attention.

With free electricity and good space, GPU mining can still work for coins like Kaspa or Ravencoin. For a rig, look at motherboards like the ASUS B250 Mining Expert and power supplies like the Corsair HX1200. Check YouTube for tutorials on setting up GPU rigs, and use tools like ASICprofit to find the most profitable coins. Keep it efficient and good luck!
Cheap or even free electricity is the most important key for Mining in general , and who ever has that should be not scared about mining with GPUs.
There are still some Altcoins thats worth it to mine it , or you pointing your miners to some Multipool where you can choose what want in return of it.
Prohashing was one of the best things i have done when i was still in mining , but i already gave up on it as in Germany the electricity costs to much.

Kaspa coin has been mined on asics for a long time now.
Used AMD RX 570 and RX 580 can be a good solution at 30-40 dollars a piece for Ravencoin mining, but it needs to buy a lot of graphics cards. 100 video cards bring a profit of 10 dollars per day.

Since ASIC miners are illegal in your country, you should move this topic to altcoin mining, given the fact that this section is purely BITCOIN, I would also assume that in that section (despite the spam) you will find more knowledgeable members who know more about GPU mining, most of US here are BTC miners, and a small number of people mine alts with ASICs, so there is nothing much for you to learn here.

As other forum members already said, you cannot actually mine Bitcoin with a GPU. If you go for altcoin mining, it will take ages to get your return on investment even with the free electricity. Mining is illegal in my country as well. But I see some ads where my locals are selling some ASICS. So, I assume there is a way to import these miners somehow, such as ajaxtempest posted. Or the ads I am talking about are some kind of trap. Before you buy any ASICS, check the profitability even though your electricity is free. As far as I know, Mining is not profitable these days. So, you have to be careful and do some analysis before you invest.

I agree with @FP91G that the ROI is too long, even with free electricity. Looking at https://whattomine.com/coins, newer GPU generation (such as 7900XT) makes $0.5 or less in a day while price of those GPU starts from $650. In addition, those altcoin is obscure with low market cap. So who knows if it's price/popularity will decline in future.

You are talking about building a rig to mine BTC?
Sorry but it doesn't exist you can only mine BTC with ASIC units and please read the sticky thread under this section or read this quoted part below.

TL/DR Summary:
 - You CANNOT meaningfully mine bitcoin with your PC or laptop no matter how powerful it is.
 - You CANNOT meaningfully mine bitcoin with your tablet or phone no matter how powerful it is.
 - Mining apps for your phone or tablet that claim to mine bitcoin are almost certainly scams.
 - You CANNOT find software here to mine bitcoin with your PC by itself.
 - You MIGHT be able to do one of the above with altcoins, but such discussion goes into the altcoin mining section.
 - You CANNOT find or post software here to mine on other peoples' PC without their permission.

So you should understand that you can't mine BTC with GPU.
Since ASIC units are illegal in your area better stop mining because GPU mining is unprofitable.
