Let's create the Indie Metaverse!
Hi everyone, I am pleased to announce that I have minted the first 100 of the 10,000 of my artwork. I would be pleased if you can visit my collection on OpenSea and check out my art. Do drop in a like if you like the art. Thanks again for your support.

yep, they're more like a dex and gaming platform. last time i heard they also plan to launch various gaming activities in collaboration with other projects such as mooncats. if you're interested, you should give it a try.

You might want to check out NFT20.io for Polygon NFTs. It's a dex for NFT that supports instant swap. Polygon gave them a grant a few weeks ago, I think you can sell your Polygon-based NFTs there. Not sure about the volume though, but considering Polygon is giving them some support, it should be quite useful for the short-term.

Thank you for your suggestion! I explored into this. But they dont have the option of minting in their website. However, i can still mint everything on Unifty.io and then sell it in this platform.

Now, while the Polygon's minting and transaction fees are far lower than those on Ethereum, I do not really see a lot of traction in the sale of NFTs on Polygon network.

Cool project and great that you are doing it publicly.  I will be following this to see how it progresses.
Thank you so much!

I've recently thought it might be cool to do something similar with 30,000 unique NFTs to give away to NastyFans.org members.  I think some sort of Pokemon type game being developed alongside it could make for a great user experience and maybe a way for users to play together and win/lose their NFTs.
Yes, this is an excellent idea. I have similar ideas too. You can also create an in-game fungible token or perhaps have real world cryptocurrencies that users can use to bet for their battles.

I am in the process of learning JS and Solidity and perhaps help you with the development too. I am not from a tech/coding background and the coding that i used for this project has been a tremendous learning for me. I look forward to learning JS/Solidity too.

I look forward to watching how this progresses, and if you are interested in helping to build something along the lines of what I described above, I'd be open to having that discussion.
Yes, I would love to collaborate and develop this. Currently, i am working on this project. Thereafter, i will modify my code to create more intricate art (not just pixel art) and at a fast pace. Currently, it takes about 10 secs for each art to be created for around 4000 pixels (64 cells *64 cells). So for something with a clarity of 256*256 or 512*512 it would take approximately 3 mins and 12 mins respectively for each art. I need to make my coding more efficient so that it is able to handle this rate of creation. Also, i will need a faster computer to generate these at a much faster rate and to draw good art on the touchscreen. (Am i sounding too geeky?)

So, once i modify my code to make it more efficient and get a new PC, will definitely write back to you.

Answering your questions, I think the best platform to develop something like this on would be Namecoin.  It was the first alternative chain, the first chain capable of supporting NFTs, and the most secure chain behind Bitcoin.  It also carries a low value currently which leaves room for innovation like this to have a large effect on it's value and gives users another potential method for extreme price appreciation.
I would seriously consider giving your art away for free.  If you are trying to take the path of cryptopunks, I think that is the best way to do it.  Then you have skin in the game to continue developing the project, as opposed to getting paid up front and going on your merry way.
This is an excellent idea! Currently, I need some funds to improve upon my hardware requirements and similar initial costs like purchasing good courses for JS/solidity and that is one of the reasons I am selling on OpenSea, since it has a huge user base. Once this is done I will do projects on Namecoin and other emerging NFT platforms too.

Further, once i have a game/website that can back these NFTs, i plan to give away the NFTs for free especially to those who supported me by buying my initial art and a maybe charge a small price for others.

Even otherwise, i plan to sell individual art in my collection at a price of approximately ETH 0.005 each, which I hope is a decently small amount.

The name is probably the most important part if you're marketing them as images to sell and not planning on building any infrastructure.  Google crypto buzzwords and find something that makes for a cute combination with giraffes.
This is an amazing idea! thank you again!

My main suggestion would be to build a use for them.  Cryptokitties were cool because you could breed them.  I would recommend as I did above that some sort of Pokemon type game be developed to give them purpose and give their users a way to have fun using them.
Yes, i plan on doing the same too in the future. Also, as i stated, i would love to collaborate with you!!

Great project.  Love that you made 10,000 unique images.  I think if you worked with a talented artist and gave them away they could be really popular.
Yes, once i improve my coding, i will be collaborating with few budding artists, including my sister and my cousins. Besides, them i am also acquainted with 2 other established artists with a good following with whom i can try collaborating.

Interesting. Just curious, did you write the software yourself? Pretty wild if so!
I have coded the bot that prepares these art by myself. I started learning coding in the past 6 months and I recently got this idea after I was reading about cryptopunks in detail (though I was always aware about their collection).

I think not many are using Polygon yet, just because it's newer. Depending on what eth does I guess it may persist/get more users/$ over there, but who knows.
Yes, this is true. Polygon is relatively newer and may not have many users right now.

Which blockchain on OpenSea should I mint on: OpenSea provides the option to mint on Ethereum or Polygon. Now, while the Polygon's minting and transaction fees are far lower than those on Ethereum, I do not really see a lot of traction in the sale of NFTs on Polygon network. Is this some kind of bias that people have towards Polygon and would rather prefer Ethereum (or do I have a bias while checking this?). Of course, minting on polygon would drastically reduce fees for the time being, I wonder if this would be the right choice. Please do let me know.

What is the maximum price that I can set for my art? Open question, you can let me know your thoughts. You can be frank.

I guess that's entirely up to you, and obviously I have no idea sorry!

No clue on the other questions, sorry! Tongue

Thanks!

Let's create the Indie Metaverse!
Dear forum members,

I have created an art collection of Giraffes containing 10,000 unique pieces of art on Microsoft Excel using an automation software. This project is obviously inspired by Cryptopunks. In this regard, while there have been many who use Excel autoshape/freeform to draw pictures, very few people use Excel for drawing pixel art. Out of those, this might be the only project that plans on generating 10,000 pieces of art using automation in Excel. This is my first project and I want to sell these as NFTs on OpenSea.io. I am about to create a collection on Opensea.io, but have a few questions that I would need your suggestions on. I have put in my preliminary thoughts and would request you to drop in your suggestions (especially members who often deal on OpenSea).

  • Which blockchain on OpenSea should I mint on: OpenSea provides the option to mint on Ethereum or Polygon.

  • What is the maximum price that I can set for my art? Open question, you can let me know your thoughts. You can be frank.

  • What should be the name of the collection? I would be really pleased if you can suggest some creative names for the collection of these giraffes

  • Do you have any other suggestions, comments or ideas that i should use in this project? This would help me improve upon this project and future projects too.

I have posted few sample images below for your quick reference.
