Cool project and great that you are doing it publicly. I will be following this to see how it progresses.
Thank you so much!
I've recently thought it might be cool to do something similar with 30,000 unique NFTs to give away to NastyFans.org members. I think some sort of Pokemon type game being developed alongside it could make for a great user experience and maybe a way for users to play together and win/lose their NFTs.
Yes, this is an excellent idea. I have similar ideas too. You can also create an in-game fungible token or perhaps have real world cryptocurrencies that users can use to bet for their battles.
I am in the process of learning JS and Solidity and perhaps help you with the development too. I am not from a tech/coding background and the coding that i used for this project has been a tremendous learning for me. I look forward to learning JS/Solidity too.
I look forward to watching how this progresses, and if you are interested in helping to build something along the lines of what I described above, I'd be open to having that discussion.
Yes, I would love to collaborate and develop this. Currently, i am working on this project. Thereafter, i will modify my code to create more intricate art (not just pixel art) and at a fast pace. Currently, it takes about 10 secs for each art to be created for around 4000 pixels (64 cells *64 cells). So for something with a clarity of 256*256 or 512*512 it would take approximately 3 mins and 12 mins respectively for each art. I need to make my coding more efficient so that it is able to handle this rate of creation. Also, i will need a faster computer to generate these at a much faster rate and to draw good art on the touchscreen. (Am i sounding too geeky?)
So, once i modify my code to make it more efficient and get a new PC, will definitely write back to you.
Answering your questions, I think the best platform to develop something like this on would be Namecoin. It was the first alternative chain, the first chain capable of supporting NFTs, and the most secure chain behind Bitcoin. It also carries a low value currently which leaves room for innovation like this to have a large effect on it's value and gives users another potential method for extreme price appreciation.
I would seriously consider giving your art away for free. If you are trying to take the path of cryptopunks, I think that is the best way to do it. Then you have skin in the game to continue developing the project, as opposed to getting paid up front and going on your merry way.
This is an excellent idea! Currently, I need some funds to improve upon my hardware requirements and similar initial costs like purchasing good courses for JS/solidity and that is one of the reasons I am selling on OpenSea, since it has a huge user base. Once this is done I will do projects on Namecoin and other emerging NFT platforms too.
Further, once i have a game/website that can back these NFTs, i plan to give away the NFTs for free especially to those who supported me by buying my initial art and a maybe charge a small price for others.
Even otherwise, i plan to sell individual art in my collection at a price of approximately ETH 0.005 each, which I hope is a decently small amount.
The name is probably the most important part if you're marketing them as images to sell and not planning on building any infrastructure. Google crypto buzzwords and find something that makes for a cute combination with giraffes.
This is an amazing idea! thank you again!
My main suggestion would be to build a use for them. Cryptokitties were cool because you could breed them. I would recommend as I did above that some sort of Pokemon type game be developed to give them purpose and give their users a way to have fun using them.
Yes, i plan on doing the same too in the future. Also, as i stated, i would love to collaborate with you!!
Great project. Love that you made 10,000 unique images. I think if you worked with a talented artist and gave them away they could be really popular.
Yes, once i improve my coding, i will be collaborating with few budding artists, including my sister and my cousins. Besides, them i am also acquainted with 2 other established artists with a good following with whom i can try collaborating.
