What makes you think I'm a grouchy downer? What I mentioned was a very valid concern, you work in a lab and order chemicals, so you already know that. There are plenty of restricted compounds that civilians are not allowed to have.

Well it's not necessarily a matter of need, more, handy to have. You're offering this up as collateral, so in an ideal situation that collateral needs to be returned to the borrower (you).

That aside, have you given this much thought? Who's going to be covering all of the shipping involved here? Where are you located? Accepting shipments of controlled chemicals puts both the borrower and lender at significant risk. If you're sending me a litre of Methylamine across international borders and it gets picked up, that's going to equate to big problems for everyone, not to mention that the collateral has been confiscated. In said event, who carries the liability of the loss?

It's probably different from my perspective than yours, but you're (potentially) offering to send god knows what kind of controlled or uncontrolled chemicals in the mail to complete strangers as collateral for a loan of $90.
