Trust is not moderated and anyone can leave a tag on anyone. DT members are members which are in the Default Trust category and they are there for a reason from a central authority of the forum, it is Theymos I believe who has put these people in DT together with a few other persons. I agree with your appeal that anyone who leave one negative feedback should also have a policy to remove it if the user start behaving correctly after being notified of the breach. I think this post deserve to be in Meta section and not here.

So I think a red trust should only be appealed one month after the red trust had been given, but not here on meta or any other section, but a direct message to the giver, who will scrutinize and check for your contributions to the forum and decide either to remove or an extension..
I think it will be better than pointless threads about red trust removal considering only one person(the giver) has the right to take it off.
Nonetheless, appealing on a thread makes more sense so others can also put their thoughts on person tagged with negative trust. We don't tend to put more blame and degrading that people and instead enlighten him what was really the point that should be taken. And if the claim of the person tagged is more reasonable nor have a strong proof that the one who gives then it can't be have a probable cause.

Not exactly, if I'm not wrong.
Every negative/positive feedback get added to your profile. Feedback from DT are trustworhty while from normal member, it is not. That's the difference. You can see all the feedback you get and all you give. Also, you can see other people's feedback given by normal member.

That’s what I’m saying. If you report someone, you are going to be reporting someone who is not on DT. If they tag you, it is useless because it is not trustworthy.

You can add people to your own DT. I recently added one.

Anyway, they are not going to tag you because they won’t know you have reported them.

This trust issue has not always been down with me.
I have a couple of times contemplated reporting a post or a user but what if out of spite I get a retaliatory neg trust?
their trust is useless.

The person reported doesn't know that you have reported him. Also, people you report are not in DT, so their trust is useless.

The link above is vods negative trust removal policy..
I think this policy should be adopted on the forum, firstly red trust is unmoderated, and can only be undone by the actual person who dished it out.
