These guys are probably on everyone's ignore list, if they have nothing useful to say about why it's a bad idea, don't bother paying attention because usually they've gone around pissong off everyone else as well and are picking on someone new because everybody else knows to just ignore them.

Don't make a self-moderated thread unless you're using it specifically to organise/categorise useful info like some people are doing because it just makes you look petty.

Often negativity is warranted - think of most of the alt coins - nothing but a waste of time  Smiley

Not really, if you're not interested in a project or think it's a waste of time why start a flame war with someone who has dedicated a lot of time and effort into something they believe in? Just to be a jerk?

So you're prejudiced against jerks? Sounds pretty behaviourist to me.

You can always make your thread a self moderated one, many people do this to delete posts which are flaming and off topic replies. (instead of getting the moderators involved) But, don't think this will stop people calling out your project as a scam if they think it's a scam they will most likely post a thread in the scam accusations section.

There are guys who consider suspect making thread self-moderated...

I love the bitcoin community as a whole. But it seems every time someone comes out with something, or wants to start a new project there's one jackass that has to be a prick and start screaming at people because they don't like how something is being managed or operated.

Here's a simple tip I learned from real life. If you don't like how project, company or group is operated don't participate. You might not like altcoins, you might think coingen is dumb or a bad idea. Well if you find a project that  involves it (and is even open about it) stay out of it, simple enough. Makes me not want to even participate with my own projects or come back to the site to support other projects. Just something to think about.

I understand watching for scams, and alerting people to potential scams. But please if you see something that's weird or different, maybe PM the poster and ask them for a clarification instead of starting a public shouting match about who's right and who's wrong.
