It is going the classic mt gox route of stalling excuses before the fall If you aren't worried you are a fool

Taking longer than expected to get back up and running isn't a crime.  If my site had 5 million stolen I'd be triple checking that everything worked too.  More status updates would be nice, but as long as everybody gets paid back I don't see a problem.

More frequent status updates would make Bitstamp look much better. The gaps between updates have been too long until now.

Not sure if he deserves jail time.

But I would say that the guy needs to make better timeline estimates.

If he doesn't know how long they will be down he should just say that instead of saying "24-48 hours" then to go back on it.

Simply makes them look bad.

It is so unfair to  customers and gives them such a false sense of security when he makes these types of bogus statements and then retracts. Mt gox kept doing the same thing saying on verge of reopening doing final testing etc. To have no compassion and be this flippant toward once loyal customers is inexcusable and makes him look like Mark Karpeles.  LOl at guy who sees no problem with him doing this.

I can rest assured that my bitcoins are safe while this irresponsible owner is making these types of statements while not posting any type of proof that stamp has its customers funds? It destroys any credibility and just further goes to show that no one should trust these hacks with their money.

If bitstamp takes the money and runs does he deserve jail time? My money is currently in the same void it was in with gox and this from a company that professed its honesty and integrity when gox bankrupted.

I think bitstamp deserves more time, if they were truly hacked, they need time to be able to find how they were hacked and plug whatever holes existed in their systems.  With Gox, there were lots of red flags in the months and weeks up to their insolvency. There is no such thing as hackproof, it's just a matter of risk mitigation. They may have felt that had done enough security, but obviously it wasn't enough.  Besides, they are communicating on their website and twitter with updates. It seems they are acting in good faith so far in response to a large theft, no?

A Great Time to Start Something!
Stamp has such a good track record (especially compared to early Gox), maybe they deserve a little more time?

I would like to see Nejc Kordic and his partner thrown in jail. I remember the statement bitstamp issued along with other exchanges on how reputable they were and how they where the antithesis of mt gox after gox declared bankruptcy. Looks like they are the same crooks. They have vanished shut off the lights and after the debacle that was gox are walking in goxs criminal footsteps by keeping their customers in the dark and providing no assurances other then useless rhetoric that gox provided before it  shut down.
