The current pumping of the cryptocurrencies market has really affected other coins and I think that is what nem is benefitting from and not because at the fundamental side some good news has flows into nem.
Atleast we can support decentrelised over centralised coin.
I think most of us agree with you, but human psychology is more inclined to money. So, the main thing is profit and and it does not matter which coin it is, afterwards we pay attention to the others.True. 99% of people, are interested in their profit. They are choosing those altcoins which (as the guys think) will be the best gainers. However, this thread about NEM gives the information I agree with. This cryptocurrency has many chances to climb up to the 5-7th places due to the market capitalization. NEM has already shown the bull growth, and I guess, the alt will not stop this rally.

NEM was a project which people trust back in the early days of Ethereum creation but the main problem that I know or believe is real the problem while most smart contract(new project) and investors dont choose or invest much into NEM is because the team and developers involve are working collectively/simultaneously in terms of updating their wallet etc. and have conversation with the crypto community.Meanwhile, I dont see anything big about XRP which will make me invest into since it centralized coin.
It seems to me that everything will depend only on the actual number of promising projects on this platform. Of course, nem Wallet was in demand even for such a company as a sportfix and with enough good prospects. It is such projects that should raise the weight of such NEM.
I see NEM is one of the old altcoins that is still consistent with the development of their projects.
This is what causes many people to pay more attention to NEM. So I don't wonder if NEM is pumped up anytime or even in the near future.
When the project keeps on improving and still finding ways to develop and offers their platform to benefit more their user indicates that we'd been investing in a good coin. Now that the market recovers and bitcoin increasing, NEM is doing good too in developing that may leads more investor and user in the near future. If you compare these currencies only, I would definitely support you.
However, even if we do not touch Ripple, I would say that NEM can become one of the best tokens (I mean market cap) in 2-3 years. American crypto experts even said that it could be expected that NEM will take the third place and make Ripple go down. Probably, it is worth to listen to the point of view of crypto specialists.

Probably because the smart folks don't pay attention to pump and dump coins? 40% surge without any type of catalyst is a big red flag. I thought the partnership with the Zeux app[1] was what triggered the pump, but this app isn't even that famous so I doubt such news could trigger such a massive spike in the price.But as always, whenever I coin goes up massively in price, I recommend people to not fomo buy the coin as it's very likely the uptrend will stop and the early adopters will most likely dump on the newcomers.

Huh? Bitcoin surged more than 40% and nobody knows what the so-called catalyst for this was. Besides cryptocurrencies are known for unexplainable rallies and crashes. This is a bad trader habit to assign news to price action.

There are many decentralized coins besides NEM, so why should it pump now? Are there any significant developments or releases?There is no fight NEM vs XRP. Both currencies are two out of many so the question is why would you choose one of the two over any other coin?
Note : I am not the holder of Nem or neither I am not having any intention to promote nem . But as a crypto currency true lover who actually loves the purpose of blockchain technology and its decentrelised nature I am supporting Nem.
I think now is not looking good and maybe we can have a grow only if will happen something, either a lot of people start buy Nem or if there can start a bull run like happen on 2017.

This is not a pump I guess it just recovers from being dump. Check this thread From 1500 sats goes down to 800 sats. Now it recover back to 1k plus satoshi because of the good news about adoption.

NEM is a hard one to just jump into as a trader i think
as with it's long history comes a large userbase
so you never know what kinda whales have been stacking

The current market conditions start to improve, but some people have not had the ability to sell in crypto. There are lots of newcomers, who are only one transaction to sell the bounty coins. After selling already they do not buy anymore in the market. Not only NEM however for all digital money in cryptocurrency.
NEM is very close to the goal in terms of decentralisation. Decentralised exchanges will be a future of the blockchain technology and big companies will take advantage of the blockchain based logistics soon. I prefer to pay with my anonymous currency on the shopping and I believe one day it will be possible.

In short, yes, early this year they announced a restructure due to financial difficulties - caused at least in part by falling crypto prices during 2018. Prices dropped as a result.
Last week they announced details of the Catapult upgrade, which saw prices surge - but maybe part of the surge was Catapult, and part was a delayed price rise due to the whole market rising whilst NEM was in difficulties.
I think they have been pretty transparent about the difficulties, which is a good sign. I still think it's a strong project.
Lol, the debate over who is best, chose me, and let's forget about the other, etc don't work anymore buddy! We all are in this ecosystem for reasons best known to us and hence you shouldn't be surprised at people's decision. NEM should build their platform and then the users will naturally troop in!!

All the investors are accept the NEM bull run in last month and this month, so all are waiting for the continuous improvement at the same time ripple is not a efficient crypto currency and this make profit or loss at anytime. Because XRP was against the Bitcoin so I don't like this concept and it will never satisfy in future.

Yes you are very correct, people are no longer focused on the blockchain and what the technology has to offer anymore, but they are focused on how they could make money for themselves in the crypto space and would buy any coin they see as long as they where told that the price is going to increase within a short period of time, well this is very bad but I don't think it can be changed now because the mindset of the newbies coming into the crypto space has been corrupted by making them just focus on the price and not the value.

NEM coin has the more appreciation in the price in this medium term bull while other altcoins are a steady move. It is speculated by the crypto analyst that NEM coin will go above $1 in this year if the Bitcoin take rally towards the $10,000.

Although I have not heard of NEM before which I will check out, because I know everyone wants to shill their coins to public not because they really believe in it but because of their investment in it, but I will never invest in any projects based on opinion till I research over it,The reason why I would also want to research on this project is to see if I will pick interest, I am ready to support any good project that will really displace XRP off the position they have been claiming for a while now, which I feel they don’t deserve, only see them using their centralized power to get there, and not because of their merit.

I think nem can overcome easily thanks to this pump nem foundation financial problem in general nem is a good coin to follow as a community experiment

NEM started in decentralize way but for me the team lacks strong marketing team like Ripple, Ripple is building a brand and trying as much as possible to eat at the top of the foot chain, work and partner with banks this can not be said of NEW, even there was a time the team has no money to use for the development of the platform unlike Ripple sitting on huge tokens that can be sold in the market at any time

That is hard truth...people in cryptocurrency are mostly desiring to make money more than looking at what the platform can contribute to the many industry and the society in general. And we could not blame people to have that mindset as we are for what we can get from something. Though we have to recognize that there are still some people who are following their ideals in selecting what coin to support and we should thank them for that. NEM actually has a good potential and I am hoping that the team behind will innovate and partner more with other organizations that can take advantage of their platform. At the end of the day, it is always adoption that can carry the platform into the future. The more users the platform has the better it can be for its viability. As they say, the more the merrier.

Because one thing,,, people do not even understand what they are buying. I like NEM too for a lot of things, a little bit because of the Asian links of course but beyond that also because they actually are trying to do something really unique for the community, unlike Ripple which is all about helping banks become faster and cheaper,,, so what, right? But speculators give no damns about this. Whichever can make more is the more popular choice and Ripple looks like the better choice now.

The catapult upgrade news has certainly catapulted NEM up the price charts. Still some way below ATH, but it is doing well and nice to see it back in the top 20 in cap.
I do hold NEM, and I like the project - it isn't a competitor to XRP though, so they can't really be compared to one another.
I really like XRP, for me XRP has a strong financial foundation and a much bigger community than NEM. When the market grows, all leading projects will increase accordingly. If I invest in the long term, I see that both NEM and XRP are very good. But now I will choose XRP for investment.

Who do you think investing. In XRP?It is the banking community and not us a normal investors that’s why the centralized coin like XRP is growing that much,but just like you I prefer NEM over this banking cryptocurrency.Suddenly the price is dropping now to -10% already though it’s normal as bitcoin also losing the momentum

well.. its not about decentralized and centralised mate because ppl nowadays will always choose the one that can make a massive profits. Btw for me in my own opinion XRP is the still best choice than NEM because if you look through coinmarketcap the potential of XRP is good than NEM. So probably that's the reason why some ppl still supporting XRP instead of NEM.

Top altcoins really pump pero ngayon, its on a red market again which is normal lang. May pump and dump talaga na mangyayari pero ang mga top altcoins, for sure more on pump sila in the future. NEM is a good coin, kaya siguro bumabawi na sila ngayon let’s see kung tatagal ang pump na ito. I'm a follower of their camp here in my country and I've been amazing with the companies that they have been dealing with.
They are totally working with all the best of them and focused with the introduction and adoption of blockchain for different companies that can apply it.
Yeah, It is really interesting that after the financial problems on NEM Foundation side they handled this and now we see results of their work 
They are not stoping from working with their project, they make a good development in the past. Though NEM right now is still cheap, i see s bigger future with it and it can hit again the new ATH. I do watch this coin before and I think investing on this one right now is a good decision, i can’t tell that it will pump high but hopefully it will.
I believe that NEM will really make it big in time to come as we can really see the sign at the moment, though I don't want to believe that it is a pump but a normal growth as a result of the forces of demand and supply.
