Just for info: right now - what amount of income can I expect from own supernode?

I can place a server near M9 - main internet exchange traffic hub in Moscow, Russia.

About 300 - 320 XEM per day

By opening the link, Google Chrome shows me that site contains harmful content. Seems it is on Google's black list.

It is. Again. Google had already whitelisted it but appearantly they made some mistake there. Anyway it's a false positive.

Planning to set up a NEM node besides my NXT node. I am currently using a plan of digitalocean.com, but I am not satisfied with the service.
Could someone recommend a good VPS provider for running a NEM node. Is Amazon or Google cloud hosting an option?

Go have a look here: http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/

There is probably a tutorial in there that suits your purpose.

Wow...that was easy! Thanks. Smiley

Awright, I bit: just nought ~3.1 million XEM. But I have to conserve Internet usage for now: damned overage charges have kicked in. I'll check back in about a week.

Nice to have you on board !  Grin

Your timing was good I suppose  Wink

Very good timing.

Thanks to you both. My Internet accounts now on a new month, so I can afford to run some nodes again.  Cheesy

But to be frank, I really didn't expect this jump. Instead I was planning to just lock away the NEM in the Supernode - which I plan to set up in a Digital Ocean droplet with a fixed IP - and HODL the NEM for "years." Of course, I had the usual HODLers fantasies dancing around in my head Wink but I didn't expect much action all that soon. Essentially, I imagined donating US$10 a month (by paying for the droplet) as a service to the NEM network with a "yuge" capital gain in five or so years as a long-term incentive.

And now that I brought up the subject: I downloaded the NEM standalone "package" - nis-ncc-0.6.73 - and was expecting to find a Nxt-like setup: command-line server and localhost-shortcut client. I saw four different .bat files but no URL-shortcut to localhost followed by the port number. Did I download the wrong package, or does NEM's server-wallet combo work differently from Nxt's? Thanks.

Very good timing.

And for all those interested in Supernodes.  The alpha testing phase is still well underway.  If you have any questions setting up your node, please visit the forum.  https://forum.nem.io/t/nem-supernode-rewards-program/1735/23

Sounds good, but why don't you let the delegateted harvesters pay a small %age of their income instead of NEM funds?
If someone want's to harvest without running a node he should at least get a little less in my opinion.
I think that would also force more Nodes...

Sounds good.  We are in the testing phase and setting parameters, so it will be nice to see how your node does.

Supernodes!

These nodes are given rewards from a fund set aside during the Nemesis block of almost 2.5% of the total amount of XEM and will be made sustainable through special kinds of transactions that will be introduced later.

The network is undergoing its alpha testing phase and adjusting parameters to optimize.  We are inviting people to join the program.  During this phase nodes are not given rewards, but once everything is adjusted correctly an announcement will be made marking the official start of rewards.

To read more and join, please visit our forum.

To read more about the entire program in depth, please read our original draft (which will still undergo some small revisions).
