Yes, that's what I did. It took me a bit to figure out that I had to both forward the ports AND set it as an "Application". I had to try different configurations but the internal IP was the one that worked.

for future reference it would use the internal ip for the server 192.168.1.48

to use his external ip he would have to forward the connections in his router for them  ports to the server ip

Thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't work.
I was able to figure out the settings for the modem and router - that'll teach me for buying a Cisco router - way more settings than a newbie is ready for.
All good now.

Hi, I could really use some help please. I bought 4 miners and a router to connect them all and they work fine if I'm connected to someone else's pool.

I want to set up my own p2pool, and I did that and it's now running, but I can't figure out how to connect the miners to my pool server.

Here's an image that demonstrates the layout and addresses:


Please let me know what other information your require.

Find the external IP for your pool server, and then connect to it.
