I once made the mistake of buying a raidmax psu.   I remember my computer froze and then the psu died because I unplugged the power cable from the back of system.

Yea raidmax is definitely bottom of the barrel.  But you could solder that wire back onto the pin instead of crimping it too.

Actually you should be fine with just the single 4 pin CPU power since the CPU wont be doing anything.  Just be sure to tape off that wire so it doesn't short out on anything.

Raidmax PSUs are almost always crappy.  Only use them on hardware you're willing to sacrifice.

In this case you can try to pull the crimp out of the plastic 4 pin and recrimp it.  Otherwise just use the PSU on a system with a weak CPU like a Celeron/Sempron.  The 12v can be pushed through PCIe cables but I wouldn't put more than 2 7950s on the Raidmax.

Well just got this PSU about a week ago.. It hasn't been heavily used, hasn't been overly bent or anything..

it is a RAIDMAX RX-850AE

You think i can do anything? And if not is still under warranty.. But i think i might just return it anyways and just get a different one..

This is the extra 8pin that you plug into the mootherboard..
