don't mess with BITCOIN
yeah, we are in a situation where anything can happen, even the laptop that we thought was safe, turns out to have been infiltrated by viruses and malware. For this reason, we ourselves must ensure that whatever we own, such as gadgets and laptops, remain safe and far from hackers

Apart from that, we also need to know where hackers usually come from, often our devices are infiltrated by hackers through public WiFi networks and spam email messages, so always be careful when opening anything on the internet

I was looking at any possible solution and understanding of the scam, but still can't find any possible solution. I had noticed something in the online software that can be installed in the windows and we can use in Laptop which include different one like Filmora, Like other type of screen recorder and video editors we are using, and when we download it online then it also gives us a type of patch through which it is verified and then we can use it without any type of watermark. But I have noticed my wallet has been hacked which i was using for Airdrops and then my fund especially BNB was transferred. But I think that is due to the patch we installed in these software's.

Any possible solution for that? If we use it and can't get affected?

I am sure no man in this world will say out their recovery key, and it's almost impossible to talk about the private key, especially Bitcoin Wallet.
It is only someone who is visually impaired that may have their electronic device say there private key out loud that in my estimation estimation is a unique case. However for the majority of people out there, no one says or even hums their private keys out loud whether consciously or not.  The thing that most people do is to which they should guard against is taking a screenshot of it and saving it to their gallery or sending it to their WhatsApp.
I think it's better to avoid letting people know that you are into crypto investment, this will make you safer from people with bad plans, I read about some binance staffs that was rob at gun point and they are all asked to offload all their coins themselves,  they are been target, be careful out there.
This is difficult. We are social animals. If you are into cryptocurrencies you must belong to a group of like minded people. Therefore it is difficult to avoid letting people know that you are into crypto investment. The way to do this is to know who you share your Bitcoin news and strategies with wherever you find yourself.

Let your things be personal, your room, your things, your PC and phone must always be private, there is this one thing that's common with people, once you give them a pass into your private space they will come through other day without asking for your permission, there are friends that I have break up with because of this habit, there are times to play and there are times to work, if all your friends don't know this, they will make your life a miserable one.

People need to understand that privacy is key when you are making a living even out of crypto space, do not be vulnerable or people will take advantage of you, I have my personal PC and there is no one that I can ever let on my PC, not even my friends, because I don't trust anyone, if you are known to be into Bitcoin investment it's possible that you will be target.

I think it's better to avoid letting people know that you are into crypto investment, this will make you safer from people with bad plans, I read about some binance staffs that was rob at gun point and they are all asked to offload all their coins themselves,  they are been target, be careful out there.

Never share your personal things with others. I don't share anything personal with my family members so why should I tell others about my personal matters. I like to keep things personal in everything. If someone else knows your secret, he won't mind hurting your secret. Your wallet or anything else you should only know your privacy everywhere. Today, maybe a friend or a loved one trusted and shared personal information of their wallet, but if the relationship with them is about to deteriorate, they will definitely harm you, so you should be extremely careful in doing such stupid things.

I don’t know if someone can be hypnotized to tell you their seed phrase, I believe I’ve read a topic about it on here but I can’t remember right now. I don’t think it’s a good idea to test a person’s loyalty with your seed phrase, even if the wallet is empty or the whole thing was a trick. How would you even know if the person had access to the wallet if he doesn’t move the coins in it? It’s a poor test of judgement, my friend. And adversely your actions may breed contempt in the other party.

Are you serious? To hypnotize or use of spell is the simplest way I think one can tell about their seed phrase and other things in general. With that happening I don't think there's much work to do.
Some people can go to any length to gain the trust of the one person they feel they love or feel they trust, it mustn't be that it must be with the seed phrase, the wallet can be empty too like you said but they'd monitor how thing goes after exposing it.
In some cases to make it more tempting they'd let a little amount to be in the wallet just to carry on with the test.
I too don't fancy such test, but you can't change or tell why some people go to that extent to gain trust by revealing their seed phrase.

I can remember reading here a quite famous case of a person who lost and forgot his seed and, with the help pf hypnosis he was able to remember the words, or at least that's what he was trying. It was long ago that I read it so I can't remember the detail. But, what is sure is that it wasn't "a spell" on a hodler. I'm quite skeptical about the kind of hypnosis Sexylizzy2813 is talking about, and I think that to be really effective, hypnosis must be agreed by the subject. Maybe if you talked about being manipulated in order to tell the seed... one must be really silly to do that, but don't underestimate the human stupidity: social engineering is a thing for one reason.

So it is very important never to say your recovery seed out loud since you just can't figure out at this age, who's listening or watching you whilst you're alone in your bedroom with your gadgets. Don't mention your recovery seed in a phone conversation with a friend or family,  even when you're calling through end-to-end encrypted applications such as WhatsApp.

Well, I try as much as possible not to even have thought about telling anyone my private key because I doubt that it is necessary in the first place. If you have accumulated bitcoin already in your wallet, exposing your private key to the public is just like giving a literal key to an hidden box containing your wealth, there is a very high chance that your wealth would be stolen from you as a result of that carelesss.
The thing is that smart people are every where and just by making one or two statement, one can know much about you. You don't even need to do a long introduction about your self before someone gets to know who you are at this age. They can just look at the apps in your phone and within split seconds they know much about you, are calling out your private key could be very detrimental to you.

Their is something that is involved in a recovery seed of wallet, a recovery seed or private key is not something people exposed out there because when you exposed your private that means you are attracting penetrative to your wallet, sometimes you will be mindful of your private key knowing that your private key is what protects your funds and it don't need to be exposed and you don't need to save it online

Lastly, whenever you work on your recovery seed, put your mobile phones in another room, put a tape over your webcams as an added security measures and never do anything with your Bitcoin in a public space like McDonald's or Chicken Republic that is full of listening devices. Don't be carried away.

Maybe at last, bitcoin is going to be the teacher of many who don't know how to handle things privately learn from their lessons, it's not funny that some people were just being do careless in handling things, even to the extent of thise things that are sensitive for them to hide, instead they go about exposing them in the public, things like this will teach so many people a lesson and henceforth they wouldn't go about mishandling relevant things of such which should be guided by all means from any third party influence for privacy and security measures.
Yes bitcoin have thought me alot about privacy and how to handle it in the most secured manner and no doubt about the fact that it will have though so many of her the same thing since privacy and security is one of the key features of Bitcoin,  since bitcoin gives us the chance to hold our assets in the most secrecy manner and without third-party interference,  reason why many of the bitcoin holders will not even want to expose their private keys to any third party.

And this makes to to work out modalities to protect their keys from intruder,  and most especially when there have funds in those wallet,  they won't risk such vital aspect of the wallet security which exposes their funds.

The name already suggest that it shouldn't be shared publicly it wouldn't make sense if you if it is not to be keep private. This is the same as password where you are the only one who knows about it and shouldn't be shared so that no one else can access your account. In crypto wallet, never sharing your PRIVATE key means your assets will be safe. Many of us already knows that there are ways to get your password so that means there are also ways to get your private key when it's online that's why keeping your private key or seed phrase offline or using metal then it should be safe.
The fact that its considered a private key, then no one is allowed to know about it but definitely only YOU. That's why you should keep its security always high so that other people will never have an edge to steal it from you. But if you are the one making a move to reveal your private keys to someone whom you highly trusted, maybe for now your account might be safe but you don't know in the future if it will still be safe knowing its not private anymore.

This is why if you can't keep your privacy for long, then never engage in certain investments that need some privacy. Otherwise, you will only put your investments at risk because you fail to keep your private keys stay in private for the longest time.

Whatever it happens, indeed, things related to private keys or seed phrases or other important data are very dangerous if we don't store them properly, and also if we underestimate their storage. Not only that, we also have to be wary of the various things we post on social media, because that is where many hackers or scammers start their actions. It is true that storing important data in the online cloud can be at risk of hacking and this can be guaranteed if our assets are in a dangerous condition. Make sure to implement a double security system so that this will at least help secure your assets. Don't trust anyone, especially if they ask for your private key or password for any reason, never give it.

You know people often don't realize how important it is to keep their recovery seed private. Even if you store your crypto in a cold wallet, if someone has access to your recovery seed they can steal your funds. Protecting recovery seed and never sharing it with anyone no matter what is very necessary and even if you're completely alone, it's not a good idea to say your recovery seed out loud talk more of making phone calls.

Things you least expect happens, some people can play with it while saying everything about it without thinking it would be used for stealing the funds. Ignorance is what get the best out of so many people these days.
No matter how hard we preach about this people still see no reason to hide it like their life depends on it, some still believe that they have someone they could tell their secret without it going side ways.

What on earth could make anyone tell another person his/her seed phrase over the phone? That’s doesn’t make sense.

So many things could make someone do that, stupidity or the person must have been high on something who knows or he must have been under a spell.
Some people choose to do that because of love, I don't know about you if you can.
To you it doesn't make sense but they might use it as a means to know how trustworthy that person on the receiving end is, sometimes they can say a wrong seed phrase to check if that person is worth it.
To me I don't think is even advisable to do such unless the person in question is on his dying bed🤔, he could just let it out to the person he chooses to.

When I saw this topic I asked myself why would someone say his seed phrase or private keys out loud. But on a second thought, I've come across some persons, when they want to store a number on their phone or when they want to recharge their airtime account, they are always fond of saying it out loud. I find this odd but it's what it is.

These instances you mentioned are not the same as saying aloud your password or sensitive information. I find it hard to believe anyone would actually do this in real life and believe me I have read a lot of stories about mistakes made by newbies. This one just seems so dumb.

With listening devices now embedded on some smart devices, there's the possibility that such category of persons might ignorantly say out their seed phrase when importing to a wallet and this could cost them their funds.

The first wallet that I ever opened, which I ignorantly misplaced the piece of paper where I wrote the password that very day without knowing, and the seed phrase that I saw later wasn't complete, I still have the coinomi wallet and the bitcoin inside it, but I can not send it. I only use the bitcoin inside the wallet to see price fluctuations, nothing more. It is a very important and bitter lesson for me anytime that is open it. Now that bitcoin price is pumping, I can only watch it grow without selling it, probably forever.

Coinomi is not a very good wallet to use to hodl bitcoins, I hope you’re no longer using that wallet and have moved to a open source non custodial wallet like Electrum or Unstoppable. Any wallet that restricts your transaction just because of a password isn’t truly decentralized, you can set a password in Electrum but it’s limited to only that device, meaning even if you forget the password, you can use your seed phrase to open the wallet in another device, and that password will not be required.

As a matter of fact, it was you, SatoPrincess, that sent the bitcoin, three different times in that coinomi wallet, when i won your btc reward for best quality poster in our local board. I'm sure you'd be disappointed that I'll probably never sell the btc that you rewarded me. I still feel bad anytime i open that wallet, knowing that I might never sell the bitcoin inside. But is there any way that I can convince the coinomi admin that the only sender of btc in that wallet can testify with proof that I sent her the coinomi segwith address, and she sent btc to it three different times? I'm very sure that I have the correct coinomi seed phrase, still the wallet will tell me anytime that i tried opening it, that i should check for wrong spelling. So I'm still using this opportunity to ask if anybody on this forum has had a similar experience like this before?

I just opened the coinomi wallet and wrote the passwords down somewhere, it was months later when I wanted to sell the btc rewards from SatoPrincess, that I realized that I've misplaced the paper where I wrote the passwords. Luckily I saw the seed phrase, but you've had how the story goes. I can only blame my ignorance if I'm forever not able to sale the btc inside the wallet

The simplest solution to prevent people from losing their private keys is to be more careful and improve their security levels.
They should also try to make majority of Thier crypto related priors offline especially hodlings this can be achieved by making use of cold wallets like air gapped wallet which are totally offline.

You're right, cold wallets like trezor and ledger nano are a great way to store cryptocurrency offline because it's not too vulnerable to online attacks but you know cold storage is just one part of a comprehensive security strategy. You also need to be careful about the way you access your crypto, how you store your passwords, and how you share information online because even if you have the most secure cold wallet in the world, you could still be vulnerable to social engineering attacks or other scams if care is not taken.

Doing everything you can to make sure that it's only you who have access will go a long way. That's a good practice that you need to tell your family or friends that you want to be protected. If you can continue like that and have your necessary things for crypto, then you are safe.

Sometimes, we need to be wary of the things we visit and the possible source of hack or something. The best way is to have a hardware wallet that could protect your holdings.
We need to protect our privacy most especially when it comes to the security of our investments. If it means its safest not to disclose to other family members that we are into bitcoin investment, then let's do it for security purposes. You are not only protecting your private keys to your investment, but you are generally protecting yourself away from danger.

Saying out loud that you are currently into bitcoin is a big mistake, that will only trigger the people around to keep an eye on you so they can steal whatever they can. Most especially when it comes to your private keys, just keep it to yourself and by putting your coins in a hardware wallet, the rate of security becomes high.

What's the purpose in the first place if you intentionally say out loud about your private keys? Because if you aim to get the attention of other people, then surely you will succeed that's why hackers are now sighting on you as their new target. And because of that, you are damn fool because you are trying to put yourself and your own investment in danger, and whoever does that is not actually having the right thinking.

Private Keys are base 58 carefully selected characters, no sensible person will sit in a corner and called out a private keys without a genuine reason, maybe there is no fund in it. It's only a seed phrase one can read out since they are words that are chosen from 2048 words for wallet Imported(WIF) format of Mnemonic phrase. If after reading everything about bitcoin and you decide to give out the words, then I assume it's either there is no bitcoin in any of the private keys or the person is mentally challenge.

Quote
Instead, learn to live lowkey and respect your own privacy. The word private keys means that you only have to keep and deal it with yourself and not to be advertised to other people even your closest family and friends. That is the key to your own investment, and anyone who might accidentally knows it too will sure to deprive you later on the full control of your wallet and investment.

People don't value privacy, even when you lay low, you can still expose your privacy. How one use a wallet address can exposed privacy but some people don't know this, combining UTXO as an input in a new transaction expose one privacy because if one of the input is a KYC bitcoin, then on chain analyst will assume that it is the same person that own the bitcoin. The way we also receive change in address also expose our privacy but people don't know all this. However, security comes before anything in crypto and I agreed with your points but if we preserve privacy in a way we also used bitcoin, it will be better.

This is one habit I don't think is common amongst bitcoiners, saying their phrase out loud is something they will not just be doing because almost everyone knows the implications of doing such, but then it's important we take note of this information so we don't get I'm a situation some day a d mistakenly do that which we are not supposed to, its in our responsibility to always keep our wallet information safe especially the seed phrases as they are the gateway to our wallets.

This is why one should be mature enough before they get into financial markets and into keeping their finances on their own because anything related to finances tends to be very sensitive and it must be kept very carefully. People nowadays trust their gadgets and devices a lot, thinking that it's only them who have access to them by putting a login password or key to the gadget without realizing the fact that the stealers wouldn't need to have login access to their device to do their work but they have different ways to do it.

Your advice is useful, of course, because I know there can be a lot of people who might think that WhatsApp calls or calls over any phone network or anything are secured with end-to-end encryption and it's only them and the other party listening and they may say things that they shouldn't over the call.

Saying the passphrase out may not be an issue, especially if all aren't said out, as there are many words to it. What caught my attention in what you shared is the webcam thing. That's true for those who make use of PCs. We can't rule out that, and with the cam being on at such a time like that; it exposes things on the other side.

The first wallet that I ever opened, which I ignorantly misplaced the piece of paper where I wrote the password that very day without knowing, and the seed phrase that I saw later wasn't complete, I still have the coinomi wallet and the bitcoin inside it, but I can not send it.
Sadly, many more people will still fall victim to this incident of yours as narrated once the adrenaline rush gets a hold of them as soon as they get the idea of Bitcoin and want to earn from it. They throw caution to the wind. People are often carefree about the safety and security of their wallets no matter how often that warning is sounded.

Lastly, whenever you work on your recovery seed, put your mobile phones in another room,
Don't be paranoid too much, because that makes you overthinking and it will actually backfire on you. Just simply didn't save it online is enough save for me. being too afraid will make you careless and forget everything what the purpose. you will actually be more focused on your mobile phone and might forget how to write and save your recovery seed. Maybe you will spell the wrong word on the paper, or forget to keep it on safe box because you more focus too much on that unimportant thing (your paranoid)

This is the problem of some individual about wallet security since they overthink to much since they remark all unnecessary think as risk for them. That's why they've been paranoid on what representation they see on internet. If they could just follow all necessary measures for keeping their private key or recovery seed safe for sure they will never get compromised by anyone. We just need a proper knowledge on how to secure our wallet and that's it since its really crazy if we believe easily on unverified story which doesn't have any basis.

I just write up my important details on notebook and keep it on my cabinet, so far I never get a serious issue about doing this since I never experience any hacking. It may still have risk to be stolen but I think that will not happen since aside from my family there's no other person can enter my room.

Anyone who is about to venture into bitcoin investment most take a thorough learning or class about how to secure their privacy especially in the terms of seed phrase security in general wallet privacy since is the most important key factor when it comes of investment. I don't think anyone who wants to secure their investment will be that loud and open to start revealing their privacy to everyone around them or not being mindful on how they secure their seed phrase, as i know it's only a fool that will be on call and start mentioning their keys.

I agree that the technology that is in our homes today is sometimes so smart that it can periodically turn on the microphone and record everything that happens in the house. This can especially apply to smart devices, such as smart TVs, speakers, and, of course, gadgets. But who in a normal mind would pronounce their seed phrases if everyone is advised to be very careful with their phrases? However, I don't think there can be cases of hacking for such reasons. More like paranoia, which can drive the owner crazy, looking for surveillance everywhere. But yes, if you are the owner of millions, there may be wiretapping in your house, as we often see in modern TV series. Grin

In my case, every time I manage my keys I cover the cameras around me (laptop, smartphone...). I won't go so far as writing them under the blankets Cheesy but I have not so much to lose as Snowden.

About saying my seed loud, well, that's something that should be taken for granted. And I can't imagine a case either. Maybe when someone is used to talk when he reads? or reading it to a close relative or friend who is typing it somewhere else, simply for convenience? These cases are totally avoidable.

Anyway, although what the OP says is possible, I don't think it is very probable for most mortals. Unless you have a great wealth in cryptos, I don't think you'll be addessed/actively spied. But better safe than sorry.

It's funny how we're starting to mistrust our technologies. But I guess that's just what we need to do in order to protect our privacy. If only we can avoid all of them. I remember the scene in the movie Snowden in which Edward has to hide inside a blanket whenever he types his login information. Eyes and ears are always around us. Unfortunately, however, our smart phones and computers are precisely what they are. To a non-techy person like me, sometimes it makes me paranoid.
That's the fruit of us being too complacent and giving the government and megacorporations too much power over the stuff that we as a consumers consume and now they got us by the balls and we aren't doing anything about it, I guess we have to be wary of our devices but if you're cautious about what you put online and what you do online then you're probably going to be just fine. Dude, even the techy person are paranoid like you because they actually know how those surveillance stuff works and how easy it is to do that to an individual phone let alone an entire network of people that's connected to the Internet.

Defend Bitcoin and its PoW: bitcoincleanup.com
We have read several information about how Bitcoiners should protect their private keys as your bitcoin security and protection remains the most imperative part of your Bitcoin life and assets.

It is not overemphasized to always sort for more knowledge on how you can protect your bitcoin private keys as they are the most delicate alphanumericals that you can ever protect.

Once someone is able to hack into your private key, it becomes easy to sweep your account within seconds. This is unlike the bank account passwords or Gmail passwords that will probably require some factor verifications.

Never store your private key in any centralized or decentralized online data storage, none can be 100% trusted but the most salient part of this post is to bring our minds into this topic especially why it is important for you never to say your recovery seed or private key aloud because spy devices could be planted near you and will steal your information ASAP. Trust me when I say this isn't a satire as it is possible for Bezos to pick your private keys by using Alexa to record your keys, lols.

Realize that self-serving voice activated services or microphone database such as Alexa and Siri amongst others can log everything and once someone is able to penetrate or hack into Amazon or Apple, your information could be shared into the Dark web or on Clearnet.

So it is very important never to say your recovery seed out loud since you just can't figure out in this age, who's listening or watching you whilst you're alone in your bedroom with your gadgets. Don't mention your recovery seed in a phone conversation with a friend or family,  even when you're calling through end-to-end encrypted applications such as WhatsApp.

Your gadgets could be the spy agents too.

Lastly, whenever you work on your recovery seed, put your mobile phones in another room, put a tape over your webcams as an added security measures and never do anything with your Bitcoin in a public space like McDonald's or Chicken Republic that is full of listening devices. Don't be carried away.

First of all you should not:
  • Store private keys in your emails draft or storage like gmail
  • Never share private keys to anyone because they might steal your assets
What to do:
  • Keep the private key to yourself
  • Store your private keys offline
  • Make copies of the private keys incase your copy lost
  • If you have extra pc use it online and store keys there and make sure its secure

I would not try to talk saying my keys to anyone, because for sure if they found out i have money in there, they might get jealous and do something worse than stealing it from you so be very careful, people this days will do anything for money.

Cloud storage, even if it has the most complicated password, the hackers can still get to it. And then emails as well, when we thought that we have control of our emails and so we used it safe this mnemonic phrases or private key, it's not also safe.

Even the likes of Privnotes, a self destructing and legitimate encrypted online message service, has also been a target of cyber criminals.

And recently, cameras are also being used by scammers and phishers as one mode of attacks, so everyone should be very careful.

Just go offline though or used airgapped PC just to be on the safe side.

This may happen to beginners if they manually write their recovery seed. They might raise their voices due to the surrounding noise in a public place or repeat these phrases with their mouth until they remember them so that they do not miswrite them. Some also memorize their private key or recovery seed on one of their social media accounts or messaging apps as a reference. This is also a big mistake. They are called "Private" and not "Public" to remain in a safe place away from the eyes and ears of people and centralization in general. Therefore, if beginners cannot keep them safe, they will lose their wallets and funds. For example, they can write down these phrases on paper or any hard material and store them safely. Suppose the need arises to open their wallet. In that case, they must ensure the privacy of their security details and ensure their devices are secure and their wallet is official and reputable.

Recovery seed and private key should be kept secret and out of the prying eyes of other people.  Just read the name itself, "Private Key", this means that this kind of information should be hidden away from public for the users' safety.  Speaking it out in public simply means the person is asking everyone to steal his Bitcoin.

We have made preparations on how to securely keep our Bitcoin wallet details secret so it does not really make sense to expose these secret keys.

What on earth could make anyone tell another person his/her seed phrase over the phone? That’s doesn’t make sense.

Carelessness can make a person expose his private keys in public. Aside from the lack of security knowledge.

Yep, it’s no longer a secret that certain phone apps listen on their users in order to gather data from them. Big tech companies pay good money for these data. Ever wondered how come an ad about bags pops up on your timeline moments after you and your friends were just talking about bags. This is very common on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. We sign up to these platforms and agree to their terms of service without fully understanding what it means.

Can these spying apps be prevented by anti-malware and antivirus?  I heard that this kind of stuff is undetectable by anti-virus applications.

Lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency.

That’s doesn’t make sense.
It does make sense because alot of crypto newbies are doing unbelievable things with their crypto-holding making them the victim of crypto scammers.
Here is an example

Not only app. There are some phone and computer keyboards that expose people to danger. This led to people buying privacy-enabled phones.

Instead, learn to live lowkey and respect your own privacy. The word private keys means that you only have to keep and deal it with yourself and not to be advertised to other people even your closest family and friends. That is the key to your own investment, and anyone who might accidentally knows it too wil sure to deprive you later on the full control of your wallet and investment.

I am sure no man in this world will say out their recovery key, and it's almost impossible to talk about the private key, especially Bitcoin Wallet.
The name technically means a lot. Private key, yes private, anything private must be kept secretly and only the owner knows it.

It is not a public key, public address to share to everyone.

How to back up a seed phrase
Wallet security tips
But it seems some people make it hard to follow and understand simple words. Privacy means not disclosing it to other people, but still a lot of us are still disclosing it secretly to our family members and even to close friends. That's why hacking becomes more prevalent because we are the one giving them hints and intentions to do that.

However, its good thing to see that most of the people are now more educated on how to secure their private keys through some articles about protecting the privacy of their seed phrases or wallet key. And those who have experienced being hacked are now more cautious on their actions and decisions.

Do not forget that the apps that we download especially the uncommon and unknown ones that you've just downloaded. Because we're also giving them the agreement if it's okay to share files to them, contacts, etc. Like the typical agreement that we get when we download an app either on a desktop or through an android phone. They can also be spies and just remember since the example is with Zuck's lappy, it's also about his app and company Facebook(Meta). You're right that they've got voice activated recordings and sends us enormous ads related to what we spoke and we agree to give them our data and have access to our mics and cams. How much more those unknown apps from unknown sources that we grant access as we download them?

It's a newbie that can openly flaunt their wallet secret phrase, and when they do, they will face the consequences of their action, which definitely will teach them to be very careful. There are always the strict rules of investing in Bitcoin, which are "not your key, not your coin." Because if you give out your private key to a third party, they can control your asset. I think that some people in the cryoto spaces learned to take their security very seriously. Like myself, I have experienced some issues with lost fun in my wallet, and that taught me to be very serious in terms of security.

Telling secret phrase phrase or recovery phrase to someone's even if he is relative is striking hammer on our own feets which is not a wise man thinking indeed. Mostly newbie when they create some wallet and when they got some new account in any exchange then if they have some problems in the account or transferring some funds to another account then if they didn't know how to do,  then they give their recovery phrase or their passwords to other. Which is completely wrong and in this way most of the users wallet has been stolen and they was in loss.

Why would you even say your seed phrase out loud? Would you ever say out loud your banking account password?

Anyway, not only should you not say such a thing out loud, but you shouldn't even type it near a stock Android device, as there have been developed deep-learning techniques such that by using your microphone, the program can work out which characters you type with great accuracy: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.62719212.

Hmm, I do agree, who likes to talk about the seed phrase out, even Tbh no one does it in private and tries to memorize it   Grin Grin, at least I don't just take a snapshot and save it (on paper or wherever you like).

Hmm, these hypocrites... they don't care about user privacy this is what they sell to make millions, billions. Hmm a crypto-friendly OS.. what do you think, a dedicated OS for only cryptomen's (haha new terminology not sure it exists or not). I know we can go safely with current ones by some SOP but a dedicated one will be something next level.

No matter how reckless one could be toward their crypto recovery seed, they will find it hard to say their recovery seed loud. The mistake someone can make is not to write out their recovery seed on a piece of paper, giving out their recovery seed to scammers due to they don't know the importance or dangers of giving out their recovery seed to strangers. But if it is in the situation of someone announcing their recovery seed to others, that's the last thing most people do. By the way, the recovery seed in question is not what someone can recall all or sound meaningful or sweet to the ears of people that you would say, let you keep saying it loud to people for that sake

It's impossible for someone to even go about announcing to people his seed phrase as seed phrase is not a single alphabet that the owner can easily have offhand unless a stranger who knows what seed phrase looks like sees where the original ower misplaced it or wrote it down I think that's one of the way it can be seen by a stranger. Some time hackers may also pretend to be helpers to some people and in a bit to get a lost account some people have given out their seed phrase not knowing that they are giving it to scammers I believe these are the only ways people give out their seed phrase to other people I doubt if someone can go about doing otherwise unless such person is sick.

Never ever do that you'll be storing it on a cloud storage. How many of us before that did it when we're too naive, young and new?

But once you're already here for several years and you understand the risk that it has when you do that, you should know what's better and how you should keep it safely.

Don't be so vulgar too to your friends and family about holding Bitcoin, that's the start of making yourself protected.

If you are holding a precious asset like bitcoin, you should know the drill, keeping your those important details should be your priority.

Personally, I don't even let people know that i'm investing into bitcoin as we never know what people would think of.

Honestly even my close relatives don't know about it, I just keep my journey in crypto very private because i don't want poeple to be asking me about what I'm doing, and I don't want them to think that I'm rich because their impressiion when someone is into investing in bitcoin, the person is rich, being quite makes it safe for me as we are dealing with money anyway.

Yeah in today's world saving yourself from hackers or other people is very difficult on the one advancement in the technology sector makes life easy for us but on the other side, they are making it difficult. Some people are showing off and that makes many issues for them. If you have bitcoins are you are investing in cryptocurrency then why you are talking loudly in public or with friends just to get attention or feel dominant in your friends? Maybe after doing that someone spies on you and uses a small microphone or Seri or Alexa to get your information. My suggestion on this is to not say a single word to anyone about your Bitcoin assets or phrase and the best thing for you keeping your phrase safe is to note down it on paper and keep it in locker when you need to collect it.

Saying that you use an airgapped device that does not and will not connect to the Internet is the best. Some people believe that once the Internet is turned off, you are safe, or that your device is far from any Wi-Fi network while Bluetooth or USB is still working. I do not want to say that you should be skeptical about doing this in a dark room, but Possibilities such as zooming in on some phone cameras easily increase your concerns.

First of all Op exposing your private key is not something anyone would do ordinarily private keys being leaked or stolen is usually as a result of carelessness or ignorance which can be a result when newbies in the crypto space fail to get to understand crypto security properly before investing or as a result of scams or hacks.below is a chart from chain analysis of crypto stolen by hacks over the past 2016 -2022

The simplest solution to prevent people from losing their private keys is to be more careful and improve their security levels.
They should also try to make majority of Thier crypto related priors offline especially hodlings this can be achieved by making use of cold wallets like air gapped wallet which are totally offline.

In my religion  they say that faith comes by hearing, so it doesn't matter how many times that we hear an important information, it is still very good, because out of sight is out of mind. So it doesn't matter that we hear about keeping our passwords and seed phrase safe and secured every time, the information should be ever green in our memory. One of the essence of holding bitcoin, is to safeguard it in our wallet, and if our the wallet address is lost or compromised, then the bitcoin is at risk of been lost forever or stollen.

Not just that, there are other ways in which you can expose your private keys and seed phrase online. Using a wallet in an online device is a practice that should be discouraged because it is the fundamental that brings all these ways of exposing keys and seed phrase. You can expose your private keys and seed by downloading the wrong applications and malware, you can even download the wrong keyboard on your devices and when you have a wallet installed in it, the chances of becoming a victim will be high.

What you don't know will kill you slowly without knowing where it's coming from, the best way to avoid this is to never use a wallet that's connected online, this is what most centralized exchanges do all the time, it's better to buy and used a hardware wallet or an air gap device to manage your seed phrase, private keys and sign transactions. There is no amount of peace that comes with when you do the right thing than taking a cure while doing the wrong thing.

If you value your privacy, it's even better to use a hardware wallet than a coin that is coming from a centralized exchange because these days, the bitcoins are KYC and that is detrimental to your privacy, anyone can spy on what you do and how you spend your coins.

Once someone is able to hack into your private key, it becomes easy to sweep your account within seconds.
You are referring to 'wallet', not account. To be precise, you are referring to a noncustodial wallet.

Just like what happened to people that thought they encrypted their information on LastPass which many of the information were gotten access to recently

The worst someone can do is to store their seed phrase or private key online. Some wallets are suggesting iCloiud or Google Cloud, but manual backup offline on a paper or metallic sheet like stainless steel or titanium is the best.
