Typical investment in an altcoin looks like this

The trick is to pull out when IT peaks (and it always does) but it only peaks once 100% of the time

Hey guys,

Trying to get back into altcoin investing after being out for about 3 months. So much has happened! Blackcoin? Darkcoin? MaidSafeCoin???

Anyway, is there anything cool or interesting at all about any of these new coins or is it just more of the same?

Also, are there any recent launches that I should look into.

Thanks!

There are two new alts with code bases not based on existing coins. They are called exocoin and qora, but both their IPO's have finished, and they are still in beta testing before release. They might make a few waves when they are finally released in the not too distant future.

Same old pump and dump, only now they mine out all the coins in a week and then pump and dump and on to the next one.

You're right, that's a bit of a subjective standard isn't it.

I guess I mean anything that isn't a BTC or LTC clone with some modified constants.

Any currencies that have addressed fundamental issues with BTC are interesting so are currencies with novel features.

darkcoin is the only coin that i can think of that would have key improvements to make it viable.

Define 'cool and interesting'. I think 99.9% of alts are just 'more of the same', but that's not to say you can't make a bit of money off them (though you're probably more likely to lose it). I guess some of those coins that attempt to be truly anonymous have something different at least, but you might've already missed the boat on them ones to truly make a bit of money.
