I wonder if I copied the Link to Nicehash they could take a look or am I done ?
Unfortunately, they wouldn't be able to do anything, as Coinbase is the one holding your funds..  Embarrassed

Unless Coinbase changes it's policy in the future, your coins are "lost".
Now these funds already lost because sometime ago I also done this mistake and then contact support but they reply very late and in negative just have words please next time do double check before any deposit so I never receive my funds which was worth of 700$ so in my view op is also lost these forever.

Are you the owner of the BTC address the funds were sent to or is coinbase? Because if you are the owner you can use the private key from the btc address to open the wallet of the BCH. But if it is coinbase or another exchange BTC address you sent to all you can do is submit a ticket! Most exchanges if they are legit will try to help. But at the same time you will need alot of proof to prove you were in fact the sender that made the mistake!!!

Once it is sent is up to the wallet holder, it is up to them whether or not they want to send it back or not!

You are not completely screwed yet. But if you cannot prove you were the sender your S.O.L

I wish you the best of luck, and in the future always double or even triple check your address and make sure it does not say, BTC instead of BCH as this is a REALLY common problem with new crypto users!

And to end the thread (still something new comes up).
Moral of the story to all newbies;

Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins.

Secondly, put in some effort in research whenever using cryptocurrency.

Hi,
New to the Forum and would like some advice please.

I have made a bit of a Beginners error so some details follow.

Have a Nicehash account I used for mining until I sold my Rigs with a small amount of earnings.
Also have a Coinbase wallet that has my XRP funds in.

I attempted to transfer the Nicehash to my coinbase but didn't realize there was that when I transferred it I withdraw in BCH to a BTC address and consequently the funds never arrived !
Is there a way of recovering the funds either back to nicehash or onto coinbase ?
When I log into my Blockchain Explorer account and search my withdraw address it shows 2 transactions for that address one BCH which shows the funds and one BTC showing zero.

Following support tickets with both Nicehash & Coinbase I'm no further but that may be because I'm not very competent with transferring indicated by my predicament  Roll Eyes
You also have to be careful when transdferring funds. There is a malware that will make you lose money just by using ctrl + c and ctrl + v. It is called clipboard hijacking, try to check transaction if it's success or successfully sent and the only problem is it didn't arrive. I have mentioned this malwarw is because of what you have states that it didnvt arrive.

This is your lesson for life, your funds were lost forever I guess.

They also give prior warning while you are copying the receiving wallet address every time so its completely your fault.

Well coinbase has considered my funds lost  Undecided

Thank you for contacting Coinbase. Based on the information you provided, it seems like you have sent a specific type of cryptocurrency to the address of a different cryptocurrency. Since Coinbase does not support transactions where one cryptocurrency is sent to the address of a different cryptocurrency, we are unable to recover these funds.

So lesson learned, I've posted a Link to the Trans id for viewing pleasure  Cry

It is up to them to credit your account, as AdolfinWolf said.

But I think you were lucky, as coinbase already answered your ticket.

Try to provide them the accurate transaction hash, as they asked.
If you have any doubts, you can paste the public address here and the amount transacted so we can find the hash for you (there is no risk in sharing public addresses,  just privacy as we will see the balance.)

Thank you for your reply.
This is the last response from Coinbase support but I don't know exactly what there after as it's all new to me lol

Thank you for reaching back out. It appears that the transaction or account hash you've provided is invalid.

To ensure we locate the correct transaction, please provide the URL for the transaction as our system is unable to process screenshots. If you're unable to locate this information please reach out to the other exchange or the sender for the hash information.

Did you provide them with the transaction ID copied from blockchain.com?

Something like https://www.blockchain.com/bch/tx/0020e551833be3f9d5cfecb25a6e26b81ded54d79b221fd8be7bfbd85ec95962 but of course replaced with your transaction from nicehash -> Coinbase ?

Coinbase has access to your funds, but may choose not to recover them because of operational security.

Best to send another ticket to them. I'm not exactly sure what Coinbase's Cross-Chain recovery policy is (that's what this is called!), but it probably requires a decent amount of BTC before they do anything manually.

Without keys to the receiving adresses? No.. You're really dependant on Coinbase willing to credit your funds.

I've seen some rumors that they're, *in the future*, going to automatically credit BCH sent to BTC and vice versa- but i'm not sure if that's true yet.

See - https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/comments/7ltll8/accidentally_sent_btc_to_bch_wallet_has_anyone/ds3kuue/ && https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/comments/7u4f72/case_3441531_please_help_me_recover_the_btc_2500/dthjo2g/

We are currently working on a way to credit customers who sent BTC to a Coinbase BCH address and working to credit customers who sent BCH to a Coinbase BTC address by accident. I am not able to give you a time frame as to when you will be credited if you were affected by this, but rest assured we are working on it.

In the future, please only sent BTC to a BTC address, and BCH to a BCH address.

Thank you for your patience with us as we grow with the digital currency community.

Perhaps someone else can shed some light on that.
