I will not be participating in any arguments.

Tom's account has still not been approved by mods, so I am posting an update for him, per his request.

Here's the new design, based on the concept of the photography (which is what should have occurred in the first place, as I originally mentioned)

sketch:

I see the newbie post regarding the said photographer of the image.  Not sure if that's the real photographer, but, regardless, if they'd like to reach out, I will ensure Tom mentions on his description page that it is inspired by the photography of "insert name here."  Photographer has not mentioned his name.

Godspeed,

Frank

I hope he finds and offers an apology to the original artist as well.

I believe the original artist posted on the post above yours.

Sometimes the bandwagon-approach is more easy to choose and stepping outside of forum 'etiquette' takes courage.  Yet no one displays it here.  Truly sad, especially for a community that is based on trust, compassion, uniting, removing division from central banks, etc.  Seriously. Where is your head?

Now that you bring in forum etiquette and courage ...

I am still disapointed about the "Whitepaper" prints you made and sold quite some time ago.
It wasn't written anywhere in the listing on the forum nor on the website that the font would be blurry, making it impossible to read.

What's the point of exposing a whitepaper if you cannot read it ?

I approached you regarding this, and my remarks were dismissed.
The issue was not addressed, replacements were not issued, nothing done to make it right.

As part of the community you refer to, I am disapointed and will not buy Lynx products in the future.

I have the Lynx "Whitepaper", on canvas even.  I call it "The Black Rectangle" as that is all you can see.

tl;dr all the drama, but adding my 2 cents. I ordered one of these and then tried to cancel after I found out that it was copied. Tom offered a full refund, but I offered to accept a different poster from their site instead. Tom said okay and also upgraded the size (2x the cost of what I paid). Lack of oversight happens all the time, I get it...in my situation I think this Tom guy went above and beyond to make it right. I hope he finds and offers an apology to the original artist as well.

Wow.. I don’t have words to describe how I feel about this. I do my best just to make a name for myself with my photography and you guys try to rip off your own community for around 40k $ by stealing my work. What a pity.

The heard-mind mentality is quite astonishing

Band-wagon mentality.  Truly sad as collective whole for this community.

MJ knows this.  Vizique knows this.  Yet they say nothing.

Sometimes the bandwagon-approach is more easy to choose and stepping outside of forum 'etiquette' takes courage.  Yet no one displays it here.  Truly sad, especially for a community that is based on trust, compassion, uniting, removing division from central banks, etc.

I guess since I commented im part of the heard mentality.  Never said anything before.  But when something gets caught here and had a real chance of ripping $40k ish from people...then call it what you want it SHOULD be called out by the collective whole.  I hope YOU would call some company that did the same.  Its not like we have the better business beurou to keep us a safe it.  Its us and only us on this forum that keeps everyone safe.

Since you have been a member here for awhile YOU should know how many people get scammed here.  I'm not saying its a scam but to jack art that's as close as it gets.  Especially when peddling it for the amount that it was peddled for.

For you to call out mj and vizique for not chiming in...really?  What are they supposed to say, oh cmon everyone it was an honest possible $40k mistake.  I mean really.

Its easy to lump everyone together thinking we are pitchforking...but put yourselves in the shoes of the possible buyer that was considering buying this "original art".  You would be quick to defend the person peddling it?

Our replacement and customer satisfaction was always the guarantee; and it held strong and Lynx continues this policy throughout.

Does that means that I can have "Whitepaper" prints with a font that is actually readable ? (and not blurred)
I would love that ! Smiley I can return the current ones to you, no problem.

Otherwise I would like a refund for these, but that was never an option.. Roll Eyes

(I ask again, because you started to archive this thread and leaving retaliatory negative feedbacks to users, but you seem to have missed my post ...)

I don't personally have the printing/manufacturing purposes for it anymore.  But I'm happy to personally go to Office Depot or Staples and have the new version printed and mailed to you, at my own expense, as I do have the updated file.  Message me your address and the number on the back of the print along with photos of the description of the print.  Is this a 2436 matte?

Thank you for personally willing to go to such extent. Smiley
(I thought this was a Lynx guarantee.)

Anyway, I am grateful to you for willing to fix this.
I always pictured them displayed in my office but I will never display something blurry.

I am not at my home right now, but will take pictures of the whole print, and the parts that are disatisfying to me, along with the serial number and share it with you.
I hope the ones you're to make will be of a similar quality. Thanks a lot again.

You're welcome.  Like I said I have no gratification from this and, in fact, am basically here doing 'damage control' for oversight reasons that should have already been noticed by their current team.  Instead I did a quick image search and then posted to help out.

But yes when you have the opportunity send me a photo of it.  I have the updated image file so I can reproduce it, sign and number it, and have you document that you destroyed the original number to ensure there are no duplicates.

And no need for the return; sent you a message so we can solve this concern.

Alright, thank you !
I will destroy them once I got the revised version, and share pics of the destroyed ones.

I will be in touch with you soon as I am finalizing something at my work currently ...

Sounds good

In all fairness, knowing this has happened in the past, how could it happen again?  Seriously.... this Tom guys first release and he didn't bother to do ANY due diligence on this.  It does not give a good look to this new owner AT ALL.  Maybe Tom is not suited for the art business?  Also, let's be honest, the only reason it was pulled is because he knew he'd get crucified ALL over social media not just this little old forum and that would've been the end of his investment.  I also think it would be in good form to see a video of every serial number of every medium of these being destroyed.  None should be kept (even for sentimental sake) since it's a plagiarized piece.

I believe he only created one for the video purposes; the others to be released/created upon purchase.

But yes, I agree.  This is a severe oversight.

Funny thing is that I did a reverse image search on the the photo that was sent to me and I found zero entries through tinyeye.  Guess I needed to put in more DD.

Yup, still not ashamed or embarassed about my interactions with you there. You sent me a nightmare of a piece.. offset center, one of the wood hangers fell off, and the metal bent/curled within months due to temperature changes based on where I live. (Of which you actually blamed me of bending the piece on my own)
We already hashed this out and had this fight/argument in a different thread so if people are interested I guess they can go find it there. Most frankbitcoin threads have at least one member dissatisfied.

My thought process...
-You send me a piece of shit for $899 limited to 10 pieces. Sold out.
-You offer me a replacement piece and free shipping back to you. Honorable, but I used a reshipper and paid customs/duty totaling about 1/4 of the price of this piece on top of the purchase price.
-I figure.. hey.. its a sold out edition of 10, you can only maintain the 10 if you burn this piece and completely destroy it. Otherwise the limited edition is broken... fuck it.. it should be just as easy to send me another piece (you're going to spend the cost of material + printer fee on the replacement anyways). Should cost the same.. no big deal and you as a company end up with more art hanging on my wall (should be a positive+ but I guess not).
-Metal + print = Metal + print ?!?!?! doesn't it? Or did you want to hang this one on your garage wall and still pretend there is a Limited Edition of 10?
-40% Discount.. getting pretty close to the cost of materials there aren't ya? Quite a big margin on everything else you sold.. not too hard to take a hit here for failure to quality control.
-Packaging/wrap/corner foam all already in the bin.. let me just run around town and figure out how to ship this big metal piece back.. ya no
-You find yourself a disgruntled customer. Not the only disgruntled customer either.. view yogg's post above.. its a common occurrence when you ran this company.

Somehow you keep mentioning that I don't know how to run a business or what it takes. It has become VERY apparent that you don't either. The best thing the new owner could have done was make it very very clear you're staying away from advising/helping with this work.
I just can't believe this went past both of you guys' eyes and neither of you noticed the complete google image copy and paste here.... ITS YOUR FUCKING LIVELIHOOD. You have bitcoiners that work in non art aspects that noticed this within minutes/hours.... HOW. DIDN'T. ONE. OF. YOU? THIS IS WHAT YOU DO DAY IN AND DAY OUT.

I, aswell as the rest of the board will probably let the slate be wiped semi-clean here for "Tom" as long as he brings something fresh, new, and original to the table next. I'd suggest you stop posting and tarnishing the reputation that he has yet to establish with the new ownership of Lynx Art. I have nothing further to speak to you about frankbitcoin, it was a hell of a year without you posting here.

You literally just admitted that you refused a free replacement that would be free of damages.  Free.  No shipping, no customs, no charge on the panel; and you even getting to dispose of the original panel and not send it back.  Yet you refused this and said you needed an entire different metal panel design.

Our replacement and customer satisfaction was always the guarantee; and it held strong and Lynx continues this policy throughout.

But, hey, thanks for the response.  You further proved the issue you originally had at hand; which lead you to attack all future posts of mine and of anything associated with the Company.

To respond to this mention of "it should have been known", I agree - it should have been noticed.  I agreed with this in multiple other posts; I guess you're failing to read through the thread.  And no, that's not what i do -day-to-day- ... and haven't done in a year.  Again, not sure if you are reading or just speculating, but I will repeat it again, as I have at least four times already: I was approached to share this piece with the community, so I did; product was pulled, no sales were made.

Tom will propel Lynx to where it needs to be.

He has some learning to do and those things take time, as with any newcomer to a business.

Your stings don't affect me, Tee - because I know that's your intention.  Smiley

But everyone here still fails to answer the question. Lynx has recognized the problem and is doing a hand-sketch, remake, with this concept in mind.

So I ask if you, if you are for liberty, for freedom, for independence of centralized currency - why do you not accept accidental faiure and allow others to move forward and progress?  I already know the answer.  But you feel free to tell me.

Edit:  Funny that when I point out these things you make single posts and then say you're "done talking" and "refuse to comment further."  Same thing you did years ago.

This is open platform.  JUST LIKE BITCOIN.

We all make mistakes.  I'm aware of this one, forwarded it, and it was taken care of.  No one is taken advantage of.

Correct.

You did.  And I commented anonymous in regards to providing that and for me to immediately send to Tom to stop production.

Again, he could have sold it elsewhere - he had multiple orders that he canceled.

Perhaps you're not aware of what it's like to run a business; which we've discussed before (and you told me to 'shove it up my ass' when I offered you a free replacement.  remember that?  I do).

Perhaps you're not aware that proper vetting sometimes doesn't transpire with artists that are hired.  This happens will all companies.  For God's Sake, Apple sends products to be manufactured in China for slave labor and get paid $1 per day.  No complaints there, right? . Didn't think so. Power to the elite.  Which is what this forum is suppose to be against.

Weird.

Anyway.  If you want to rehash old shit, let's go ahead.

Here's your original problem with the Lynx company.

Which, as mentioned a few years ago, stemmed from you wanting a replacement of the same item, which I said i agreed to and would send to you for FREE, which you DECLINED, and suggested that you wanted another piece.

Come on man.  Get real.  Not only with yourself, but with this forum as well.

Hey, sorry I gave you some 'red.'  But it's not right to harass other users. Period.

Stop trolling posts. Lynx recognized the problem and is fixing the issue.  Quite honestly it seems like your entire agenda is based on hanging out here to troll others and harass them.

Agreed.  Yet you, yourself, steer clear of 'staying silent.'  Instead you make wild accusations about people and companies that you have no knowledge of; no knowledge of Lynx's creation, Lynx's existence, Lynx's artists, .  Would the new owner have purchased a company that had a terrible backstory?  I don't think so.

You've done nothing but attack me on this forum since the existence of my account.  It's the history of your username and who you are.

I don't own Lynx anymore.  I could care less what you say to me.  But it's pretty sad for the new founder to be in this position by what was clearly an oversight.

THE PRODUCT WAS PULLED.  IT WAS NEVER SOLD.  He could have kept it online and pumped it through Twitter, Reddit, etc. Instead, he did the right thing and deleted the product when he discovered it.

You've done nothing but try to tarnish other users here on this forum.  Those of us who are aware of you know.  And many won't speak out against it for fear of mods, admins, or other 'long standing users.'  I have no relevance to Lynx anymore so I'm happy to debate you on any topic you feel to bring up, Tee.

Interesting to see that I'm still living rent-free in your mind, though.
Pulled because WE found the problem. This community you talk of has to protect their own interests and double check nearly everything that Lynx Art produces... doesn't matter if you owned the company or this new guy owns the company.. its a recurring pattern here. How many "oversights" do you guys want before you get called out? This dude's first product back to the community... oversight.

THE PRODUCT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN PULLED. IT WOULD HAVE SOLD.. If it weren't for us. There was interest, there would have been sales and I sure hope you guys compensate the members that stopped you from selling this for clear art plagiarism and extremely low effort. Get yours today, only $899 though.

You're right though, every time the farmers are fertilizing their fields and I smell shit in the air I do think about Lynx Art and frankbitcoin.. rent free I suppose you can call it.

I've never received a red from anyone respectable in this community. You haven't broke the streak don't worry. I collect these like pokemon cards.

Jynxart and frankbitcoin back at it hey. Even if this concept is rehashed there is this thread/memory as a gigantic stain wiped across it.

Actually hilarious this is your comeback post. Slow up on the frantic multiposting.. there is an edit button.

The heard-mind mentality is quite astonishing; no reasonable person willing to stand up and say Frank has always done the right thing and been thwarted.  None. Multiple pieces of original artwork.  Multiple free raffles.  Does it matter?  Clearly not.

Band-wagon mentality.  Truly sad as collective whole for this community.

I condemn any artwork that is 'plagiarized' or copied.

I've repeated this NUMEROUS times - we originally hired our own artists. Then we partnered with artists.  Some artists we partnered with were not vetted properly.  Those products were pulled.  Same as this one.

Seriously. Side note:  You'll notice I haven't posted any artwork for sale on here in a year.  It's because, like I said, I am no longer the owner of the company.  I am a private citizen going about my business, trying to help a newcomer to this scene.  Normally, newcomers would be welcomed.  Issues can be brought up, addressed, fixed, and restored. Again, I am against any artwork that is copied, modified, restored, etc. Everything should be original, as I originally intended when I started the company in 2012

Open your eyes.

I'm gonna have to stop you there for a second, let me wipe these tears away from my eyes........ from laughing. I've never ever had a good experience with Lynx Art and frankbitcoin. There is no "heArd-mind" here. I've been a hater(rightfully so) for a long time don't worry, when I saw this thread and what has transpired I knew NOTHING had changed, ownership/company still shit.. I wouldn't even be able to tell that it changed hands.

How can you "frankbitcoin" (the promoter) and now "Tom" (the owner) both be so blind to have let this slipped by. It took all of 5 seconds with a google search for many people on this board to find out you guys were trying to reach into our pockets and yoink some real easy profit. I believe I've said it before to you... always "gimmie gimmie". Maybe fire an artist and hire a quality control person.. need more tips? That'll be $899 for the next one.

Dropping vizique and minerjones' names here isn't going to do anything for you either. They've got a little bit more class than I do so they stay out of the mud slinging. Sometimes silence is a hint.
Did you guys come back due to the steady influx of new members that may not know about one-a-day-frank?

Best advice to Tom is to make an account and put this fire out yourself. dumpsterfirefrank isn't doing you any favors. You don't need an admin here to okay or approve your account creation.

Seriously. Where is your head?

Side note:  You'll notice I haven't posted any artwork for sale on here in a year.  It's because, like I said, I am no longer the owner of the company.  I am a private citizen going about my business, trying to help a newcomer to this scene.  Normally, newcomers would be welcomed.  Issues can be brought up, addressed, fixed, and restored. Again, I am against any artwork that is copied, modified, restored, etc. Everything should be original, as I originally intended when I started the company in 2012

Open your eyes.

Additional note:

Tom has still not been able to post as he said he's still awaiting an approval from admin.

So if admins want to step in and approve his account, I can step outside of this and Tom will handle everything from here.  But no word yet.

Piss poor on lynx whoever is running it. A quick sellout would have resulted in upwards of $35k from this community.  Disappointed and won't be looking at anything from lynx from this point on.  Unacceptable  Undecided thanks anon for bringing this to the forefront before someone paid a grand for something obviously not remotely close to it.

He is working on fixing the problem and we discussed it in detail.  Please don't take this out on Tom and Lynx as a whole.  He is still fairly new to the art scene and took over the company only a year ago so his acquisition is still fairly new.  Since his acquisition he's only released, I believe, two or three new pieces (and I believe this was out of fear of not knowing what to design or what would be good/not good).  Clearly this was not the correct route to take, and he understands that now and has profusely apologized to me and the community (via my text messages with him).

Customers shouldn't have to scour the interwebz to figure this out.  In the real world this would be art company suicide....a post from the company would be nice doesn't take but 2 minutes to sign up here.  If you are not involved with this someone is and at a minimum owes an apology for almost stealing $35k from this community.  You know well enough people here love their art/collectable pieces but we are niche and a very small community.  Things like this discourage newcomers to jump in.  We need to expand not contract our community....

I have told him to register immediately and respond to this thread directly.

concept look Kool. hope thing get sorted out

He's sending the concept over to their top designer which was Miranda.  She'll hand sketch everything first then bring it all in digitally and use this as an overall concept idea.  So this can now be viewed as the 'concept' on which the final piece will be made from, from what I've been told.  When the final piece is shared, I'll make sure it includes original sketches and in-process digital design to showcase.

What!?!  Shocked

Thank you anonymousminer for your due diligence.

Interested in a full response.

So much for my Merit Undecided

Can't take full credit for the find..... but I certainly wasn't letting it go unnoticed since this is at least the second time Lynx has had this issue with a thieving artist.

I cannot further promote these works until they are 100% originals; It's not fair to the community and I will express this to him before my departure.

Smart move.

^ That was the other one.  Again, DD was not done on our part, and a few pieces he released, marketed under OUR brand, were similar to others on the market.

Now that I'm separated from Lynx I will tell you that this was a huge slap in the face to me when I discovered he had done this, because I worked so hard from ground up to always make unique and original designs, working with artists that were sending me physical hand-drawn pencil sketches before they moved it into adobe and added all of the digital effects.  So going from that and building a groundswell of trust, and then to partner with someone who had essentially stabbed me in the back, was definitely a hit to me personally.

I am suggesting that Tom pull the product.

He can still make something similar with the same basic idea, but it should NOT be using an image that was found on the internet, it should be hand sketched and originally designed.

Update:

Tom has pulled the product from the website.

He will be taking this idea and moving forward with another artist, starting from scratch, beginning with a hand-sketch based around this concept.  Sketches will be provided and preliminary designs will be shown alongside the finalized product.

The concept is great.  Taking the photo and drawing over it is NOT acceptable.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention so I could inform him.  This is extremely serious and vital that the art community receive something that is indeed unique, creative, and NOT copied.

Read again..... I didn't call you a scam and I'm well aware of who you are.  I said the artist stole the image and selling it was SCAMTASTIC!!

Yes, Tom messed up and did no due diligence like you never did either.  Don't pretend like this is the first time this has been an issue for Lynx and last time you were at the helm.  Most people might have forgotten but your buddy Tom kindly refreshed it for us on his very first release here.  Well done.

Not true.  We had ten designers working for us at one point and it was very hard to keep everything in-check.  There may have been two or three that had borrowed from other designs, and those were during partnerships with other artists.  I don't recall their names. Edit: luchopoletti, https://luchopoletti.com/collections/better-money-message/hodl-crypto-art , he was the one we had partnered with on several pieces for release.  It was determined that many of these pieces looked very similar to the "OBEY" artwork creator.  This is where much confusion came into play and, upon finding this out, we pulled those products.  Not sure if anyone recalls this, but we did.

Our main artist always cranked out original artwork.  Always.  Go to the Space section.  All original.  Even the Kickflip Astronaut was a previous design that, with permission, that same exact artist, Devin, created it to be Bitcoin-oriented.

But I do understand your point.  Due Diligence should indeed have been done on this and I'm both disappointed that he went this route and, alongside this, I am a bit embarrassed that I backed it without my own proper research.

Hey everyone!

It's been a wild last year and I hope everyone here is doing well.

As most of you know, Tom, the new owner of Lynx, took over in Dec of 2019.  I missed Bitcoin and the entire community.  I reached out to him last week and asked how I could help.  I'm back on in a limited role now and have teamed up with him to help with some new pieces.

I personally think is one of the coolest ever to be released.  We will be posting it on here and Twitter only for the first five days.  After that we'll be sending it out through our newsletter and other social media channels.

First orders received will determine the number received.

Let me know if you all have any questions.  We look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback on this one!

I can't believe that the first thing you show back up with is a phototshoped picture.  Really 500-900 for photoshop.... not even original art..... SCAMTASTIC!!  Nowhere in the description does it state what image yours was based off of.  IMO the artist STOLE this picture.  No due diligence.... what a joke.

I am not the artist and therefor have no knowledge of the image used to design the artwork.  I was not involved in the process.  All I was told was that it was based on another idea and was asked if I could share it with the community, as Tom has yet to set up an account here for himself and Lynx.

Also, I'd appreciate you not calling me a 'scam.' Please don't shoot the messenger.

I've been around for quite some time, have excellent trust score, and am the original creator of Lynx (yet I am not any longer).

I do appreciate you pointing this out to me and I will discuss it with him.  I'm not sure what artist he hired to do this, but it is a bit disappointing to see on my end.

Are the printed posters limited 100 each like previous prints?

The prints themselves are not limited to a specific number or production, they are marked as 'unlimited' (or until their production expiration, to be determined by Lynx.)

The only limited pieces from this artwork are the canvases and the metal panel.

Looks nice. Great job

Limited to 51?

Each version has its own limit.  Video shown is the metal panel which is limited to 18.  Then each canvas is 18 and 15, respectively.  So yes x51 in total if you added up each canvas size and the metal panel.

Looks Great! Well Done.

Video tripped me out a bit, seemed 3D  Cheesy

Thanks!

Further Update:

Newly done with hand-drawing based on inspiration of the original photography, the way it should have been.  Please note I am only the messenger; Tom has not been approved by mods to post here yet so I'm updating this for him.

I will not be participating in any arguments.

Tom's account has still not been approved by mods, so I am posting an update for him, per his request.

Here's the new design, based on the concept of the photography (which is what should have occurred in the first place, as I originally mentioned)

I see the newbie post regarding the said photographer of the image.  Not sure if that's the real photographer, but, regardless, if they'd like to reach out, I will ensure Tom mentions on his description page that it is inspired by the photography of "insert name here."  Photographer has not mentioned his name.

Godspeed,

Frank
