Why not multibit HD?
I just downloaded that one, lol.
I think I will just forget about signing messages, since it gives me a headache, I am trying for two hours now and am getting sick of it.

because you can't import an address using it. multibit classic allows importing address.

also, looks like you can import the address to blockchain.info wallet even though you already have that address on another account. you can use this method to sign a message.
it's just that the balance won't stop loading if you imported a duplicate address (you can still delete the imported address after you sign a message. but don't delete the other one.).

Is it possible that the number is "0"?
I tried 0 till 30 and with 0 it is my address.

well, yeah, it's possible. the list starts with 0.
I imported that specific private key into my electrum wallet and it says it is a watch only address, although I could send btc to my own address. Do u know where else I can import the private key and sign a message?

you sure you imported the private key and not the address? afaik electrum watch-only wallet can only be made by importing addresses or public keys.

you can try importing it to multibit classic (not HD) instead.

there's no option to sign a message with an address that was generated on the new wallet. same goes for a (simpler) option to view your private keys. both of those are only available for imported addresses.

there's a workaround on getting your private key here.
Thank you!
I am stuck at the point when I have to add my own INDEX#, do u know where I can find this number or how it is named?

...the easiest way is to copy the Xpub (check it on blockchain explorer just to make sure that you have the correct Xpub), go to http://bip32.org/ and paste your Xpub below "BIP32 Extended Key". set the "Derivation Path" to custom and type "m/0/#" without quotes (note the lowercase m.). replace "#" with any number starting from 0 until you find your address.

there you go. pardon my laziness for not making a new post.  Tongue
