I would find this unlikely. They are already a market leader and would not gain much by acquiring btc-e.

I would find it unlikely but if they could acquire for a decent price it might make good business.

What i was wondering is why do they need a takeover in the first place, they already announced customer losses of 45% and they have the remaining funds in coin.  What does new investment provide.
The funds a potential investor would pay for partial ownership of btce would be used to repay their customers.

Yeah but they might just buy up people's debt since they have staed the BTE tokens which represent the debt will be traded. So all they have to do is get people to dump for a low price without having to sell off large part of their company they've worked so hard to build.  Maybe there will be a few small geniune investors who buy up some BTE.

I got to thinking as to who is behind the btc-e takeover now that the US has stomped on it. Lets look at the evidence:

BTC-e itself.
Under another shell company.
That's the reason it has been so fucking fast. They have signed the new documents themselves.
No other company would have move a step before the trial.

Btw that's the reason shell companies are for Smiley
Anther option?
www.xbtce.com/

Assuming it's a shell company of btc-e, as many users always suspected Smiley

I doubt that as well. It's very likely a Russian party that they have started collaborating with to settle everything. Who or what this party exactly is, or what they do, is till this day unknown, but if they really end up relaunching in a legitimate way, they basically can't hide that party from the public anymore, unless it is being done through a whole network of ghost businesses to hide the one being in charge of everything. Either way, people should just withdraw their funds and move forward. No matter how much I liked BTC-E, I simply won't make use of this exchange again, after I have taken out everything that I am allowed to take out. The US government won't just let them walk away that easily.

I got to thinking as to who is behind the btc-e takeover now that the US has stomped on it. Lets look at the evidence:

1) Company needs to have experience of crypto market exchanges
2) Needs to be outside of the US
3) Needs to have close contacts in the crypto world
4) Needs credibility
5) Needs experience the token based debt recovery

Bitfinex fits the bill exactly

I mean all the crypto king pins probably know each other and hang out on yatches eating ferrero rocher high-end chocolates and drinking real champagne while clueless bondes  aimlessly wander about. Btc-e and bitfinex probably did the deal sitting in a juccazi smoking cigars.
