If there's enough content to justify its own section, then this will likely happen. However, looking at the amount of trader journals there are on the forum it doesn't currently justify its own section. Of course, you could argue that creating a dedicated section would increase the amount of users creating these types of threads, but probably the best idea would be to create one thread where everyone contributes their trading journals for the time being.

More subs for the people, please. Can't see why it would hurt, could even turn off Signatures in it.
Correct. People can share their wins and losses in tradings or investments in new sub boards, in which signature disabled, as WO. I don't have issues with that because spammers will not get benefits for their post quota by posting.
Nevertheless, I still think that those sub-boards might be shady places in which people might get merits for their joking posts, and it is difficult to manage as what usually occur in local boards. That's somehow unfair compared to serious users whom try to contribute good things in other boards.

We already have members doing trading journal posts in the Trading Discussion forum.  However journaling topics are not truly an open discussion so much about trading, but about the individual traders journey with the exchanges.

A journal forum is not a place for anybody to bust in there are start arguments whether or not Technical Analysis is just gambling/speculating or not. A journal is where you post your trade information for others to review. It includes entry, exits, thoughts, position sizing, set ups.  We already have a bunch of these that have happened in the Trading Discussion forum.

Other forums have trading journals.  Here is a link to see journals at another forum: https://forums.babypips.com/c/trading-discussion/trade-journals   Read some of the topic titles to get an idea.  It is not speculation, it is more like learning the mechanics.  They are stepping it up a notch and sharing with other traders in order to learn how to trade better.

And I am unclear why the Trading Discussion forum has two child boards for: Scam Accusations, and Reputation. Those do not make much sense to me seeing them in the trading forum.  That means peer to peer trading of coin?  Scams and Reputation should go under the Marketplace forum.

You will usually see these "trading journals" being created in the speculation board by each members who keeps track of their own analysis, and I don't see their threads being deleted in that board so I don't see the need on creating another childboard for these kinds of topics since they already have a proper section. What I don't like to see though is these topics are wrongly being created in the "Trading Discussion" since if you aren't reading the pinned threads in that section members are lead to believe that this section is about trading cryptocurrencies not trading in general.

Okay, but why can't we hear from these traders in the existing speculation boards?  Trading is speculating, so it stands to reason that you discuss that in the speculation boards.  It sounds like what you want is a new topic, not an entire sub.

Would be nice, indeed to hear from both old and new traders, when they opened their positions and closed them (I know from experience that closing some too early is a horrific feeling after the fact).

Who knows, perhaps some interesting stories can be shared and we can all learn and grow from it.

I support this suggestion! Would be nice, indeed to hear from both old and new traders, when they opened their positions and closed them (I know from experience that closing some too early is a horrific feeling after the fact).

If I had any merit to give, I'd give it to this thread!

Seems very "niche-y" for a complete sub-board. If you want to read people's stupid TA analyses, there's Crypto twitter, and tradingview.
He probably didn't mean another Speculation section, which is where all the TA crap goes.  I think he wants a child board where members talk about specific trades--and I don't think that would work.  Most members here don't talk about that sort of thing anyway, nor about personal things in general.  You're probably right that it would turn into basically a TA section.

On the other hand, it does sound interesting to me.  I actually wouldn't mind hearing about what people are trading and what they're thinking about while doing it.  I don't keep a trading journal because I'm not a trader, but I do have a journal and have written about crypto in it--but I wouldn't share that stuff on the forum.

Not sure if it is going to be implemented
I could almost guarantee you it's not.  I don't think there's been a new child board added since I've been a member, and that's been over 4 years.  If anything, Theymos ought to make some sort of subsection for merits and one for ban appeals.  Those have been brought up several times and no action has ever been taken.

How about a new child board under Trading Discussion for Journals?

For Trader Journals, where people post their daily activity of trades and others can watch and comment.

Not sure if it is going to be implemented but you have some possible solutions to keep your trading activity alone and let the other to learn from your thread but not pos anything shit by creating "self moderated topic" under trading discussion. You also allowed to bump your thread once for every 24 hours.

What would be the difference between that and Press...

Press board is child board under Bitcoin Discussion, and only news related to Bitcoin should be posted there. This is unfortunately not the case today, many post there all news related to cryptocurrency, and if such thread is reported to moderator, usually is deleted very quickly.

OP asks for something else, and maybe this would be good idea since many post their TA all over the forum - though they would probably still do that even if they have dedicated board.

Such discussions are already well catered to.  Definitely belongs in either Speculation or Speculation (Altcoins), depending on what it is you're trading.  Trading BTC with national currencies naturally goes in the Speculation board.  Anything else goes in Altcoins.

What would be the difference between that and Press - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=77.0
Correct me if I am wrong but press is for news hits about Bitcointalk or it could mean News about Bitcoin and crypto-currency in general.

Agreed, keep trading stuff well away from the Press board.  It's not for blogging, despite what some people seem to think.

Correct me if I am wrong but press is for news hits about Bitcointalk or it could mean News about Bitcoin and crypto-currency in general.  I am talking about people who trade crypto at exchanges, they post their techniques, their set ups, they display their trades and all of the activity that goes on with their accounts. It allows others to learn and comment from other traders.

Or the Wall Observer thread, or the Speculation board - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0
I have seen the Wall Observer topic and that is more of an ongoing speculation topic that has a lot of off-topic posts. It is not an individual trader posting their own topic for their own trades to be displayed. I thought it would be a smart idea to have a forum for that but maybe it is better that members here do not use trader journals and keep doing it the way they always have.

We already have Bitcoin and Altcoin discussions for those things, and those boards have already been of one the most favorite destinations for spammers. We don't need another one for them.

This message board is a mecca for amateurs who trade crypto and many boast about how they do not keep trading journals.

It's also a great message board for topics about how much they completely failed at trading and they can't figure out what they did wrong.

Any linkage?

Not to mention that the subboard will ultimately only be used to promote paid TA and signal trash, and we already have a gambling section.  Wink.
