I don't know if anyone remembers the SETI@home from 10ish years ago that had the nifty screen saver where you could actually see what was being done.
But crapcoin idea goes as follows,
-Develop some screensaver/onscreen display.
-Find some cause that can be assisted through GPU rendering (cancer cures, seti, finding extrasolar planets, etc.)
-Award coins for successful hashes that meet given criteria.
-Pat self on back for developing crapcoin that hits world news for being noble (not to be confused with noble coin)
-Profit from premine (?)
-Drop all support for coin.
-Retire to small ranch in Hawaii
-Sneer at bicyclists as they try to bike circles around the island.
