What's wrong if someone wants to make some money? It's not like they are robbing anyone. And if someone doesn't like it, he/she may skip the coin and not mine it.

My mule don't like people laughing
This is fine so long as its laid out in the initial ANN. The developer should also post the final % for the skim and how long it will take to get there. Then we can decide if we want to mine it or not.

I kinda like this way better than a premine. It prevents the dev from dumping all the coins at an exchange at once. It also can help abandoned coins by rewarding the new devs with coin when they change the skim address and hard fork.

Skimming is a good name for it too.  Grin

The hidden premine blocks Smiley

Now coins are released without premine but every block that is mine then something will go to the developer, now when you do the calculations then the profit is much bigger for the coin owners, as they will say, sorry, there was no pre-mine, so you have to donate some coins, and in real, they earn not just 1% (as standard is accepted) but 2% and in some situations more.
