A new cryptocurrency backed by gold, named “Copernicus Gold”, is due to be launched in Singapore at the beginning of 2017.

The project was first announced by Russian banker Vladimir Frolov in Summer 2015. According to the idea of developers, this new currency and its payment system based on Blockchain technology should be an alternative to SWIFT payments, which are currently used by more than 11,000 banks and financial companies worldwide.

Interesting. Based in Singapore is a plus. Details of Gold storage would be good as would issuance details.

Could be a good alternative to Ƀ and gold bars as an investment. However, following a big shock one would always feel safer with the actual bars/coins in hand!  Grin
