liking it or disliking

I'll dislike you if that function is working.

This forum has proven to be the biggest and the most respected forum in the world of  cryptocurrencies. Almost everyday new members from different parts of the world continue to join this amazing platform.

Almost everyday everyone is trying to create an alt account and yes you're right they're from different capital.

Despite the interesting topics and discussions that we have around, there are still ways to make the forum much more interactive than it is at the moment. Hence, am suggesting if it would be possible to add features such as a "Like" button aside the "quote" button so people can react to a post

If you are tired of writing stop it and clarify things emoticon is enough to express your feelings Sad and if you want to transfer your emotions to other human being use pic or gif if you reach Jr.Poster.

I believe this can also help reduce the rate at which people spam the forum through unnecessary comments.

Yeah, I would love to downvote or dislike these:

I don't think we are all alone in the universe, there are also aliens around.

I don't think we are alone in the universe, I believe there are several creatures like the aliens in other planets of the universe.

And furthermore, you already said yourself that:

I understand the administrator's decision to bring this rule into place, as stated it would help reduce the amount of spam we see around on the forum. Since Monday, when it was announced I have realised the quality of posts has increased and the number of spams has also reduced.

You newbies end up clickbaiting me every single time.  Angry

Seems like the season for merit fishing is still open  Grin

Like for once, can your suggestions actually be any good? This is not a ripoff of reddit/Facebook, where you could use the like or up vote posts. We already have this fuckall bs called merit and people STILL AREN'T OVER IT. And you want a like/dislike system? Uh no thanks. We'll pass out on this one. Smh 🤦🏿‍♂️

An upvote, like, downvote and dislike system has been suggested and discussed multiple times.

If it would carry no significant weight, then it isn't really necessary and would just be abused as everyone would be allowed to use it without earning it. The merits system is actively stopping spam on the forum.

I believe this can also help reduce the rate at which people spam the forum through unnecessary comments.

I do not see how it can reduce spam as spammers rarely go through posts and really have no desire to appreciate quality content, they are only concerned with increasing their posts counts and fulfilling bounty requirements.

It is a bitcoin/cryptocurrency forum where people share the knowledge they acquired and get the knowledge they require. It is not a social network where everyone would share their lifestyles and the moments they spend in order to get the reactions of others about them.

The forum is already pretty fun if one dives deep into the actual meaning of the forum and be quite serious about what it offers. And, the Merit system is the way to appreciate a work done by a user on the forum, and the fun part about this system is, you don't get to be a part of the fun unless your work is appreciated by the community itself.

to add features such as a "Like" button aside the "quote" button so people can react to a post by liking it or disliking it and not necessary commenting
There is no need for a "like" or "dislike" button, if you like a post, and you've got Smerits, you merit(like/appreciate)such posts, and if you do not have Smerits, another user/source may also merit such posts(If the post is worth it)

Definitely if you disagree(not necessarily dislike) with a post, the most sensible things to do is to air(comment)your views on why you think the OP got it all wrong.. It's basically that easy

This has been discussed quite a bit already;

I don't think "Like" will be used much different than merit currently is, thus it seems pretty redundant to implement.
