Depending on what jurisdiction the forum is hosted in, there might be little difference between gambling and pyramids when it comes to illegality. I'd bet that none of these games are licensed in their home countries anyway.

That said, is anyone working on this? Are the admins even aware of this proposal? These proposals have been around for a couple of days already.

I think a separate forum is needed since the volume of gambling and pyramid bet posts.

Please don't mix gambling and (illegal) pyramids.

IMO Unless the mods of this forums want unnecessary attention from RL authorities pyramid advertisements here should not be allowed.

In a thread in the Marketplace I suggested a lounge board, maybe as a child board to Off-topic, as a good place for games and other things with little discussion value.

I enjoy playing a few games, but I think a gambling thread would be too encouraging and it would end up with too many games spread over too few players, so I think it would be best if it was mixed up with something else.

I think it will evolve, as it should. We are already seeing it go from people playing dice in the alley (the betting "trains" that we see now) to more sophisticated games, literally: Baccarat, Craps, "Darts", Hold 'Em and more. I think an actual gaming/gambling section is really needed. Also, if there is one, it's obviously a place that would tempt scammers to come in and make a quick Bit, and so there would have to be some sort of web of trust and moderation system in place. I think with this, we can avoid having a huge flood of dumb (in the sense that you just send a bet as fast as you can and hope you win) betting games with too few players.

+1 for the separate (sub)forum idea. Maybe that + adding a disclaimer on top, summarising the risk of participating in this kind of activities.

I think people would see two sides of the coin when they look at gambling, but it definitely should have its own place, regardless.

Also, anyone researching bitcoin and seeing all the pyramid schemes/gambling will definitely not think good things about the state of the currency. Please add a new forum ASAP.

I think a gambling forum under economics would be a great way to seperate the people running games from those trying to sell a product or service or advertise a marketplace type website

[Edit: Locked this thread, theymos made a Gambling forum.]

It seems a lot of the people in the Marketplace (esp. legit traders) are getting peeved about the influx of "Bitcoin Games" to hit the forums. I am totally on this page since I am against spam, and they seem to be flooding page 1 of the Marketplace. Maybe there should be a separate section for Bitcoin gaming?

What do you think, and if you agree, how should it be implemented?
