A 50 million dollar worth useless forum upgrade. It's probably the biggest white collar scam on bitcoin.

It was only worth around a million when it was spent.

A decentralized cryptocurrency's forum software being built by a centralized team for 5000 bitcoins (I forgot the real amount theymos paid).
Great.

They ate shit, now they're just waiting to process it. It's too late for them to turn back now. I've built more, better, in half a month by myself than what's currently developed.

I found the layout a bit simple
I rather use a simple forum that's safe and secure than a forum with good front-end and not so safe and secure back-end.

Is it really not ready yet?  Shocked

That's insane. I haven't been here for over a year and it was supposed to be almost ready then  Roll Eyes
Good things take time...

Good to see that people still post basic nothings so you can get paid for you signature campaign. Never change bitcointalk.

I couldn't find any other update on when the new forum layout will be released. All i know is that this, -> https://github.com/epochtalk/epochtalk is their github for the new forum, where you can follow all the new development.

I've searched and found numerous other threads on when the forum will be released, and no one really knows the answer.

with the current state of it http://beta.bitcointalk.org , i'm starting to get a bit worried aswell ;/

does the beta website belong to Bitcointalk.org official?
for what exactly is the beta?
I am interested in the UI on the beta website

You mean the above link right? ( https://beta.bitcointalk.org/), and yes, this belongs to bitcointalk.org

Probably to test and display the new features the forum will be getting, and to give the community an impression of what's coming.

You might be interested in  -> https://github.com/epochtalk/epochtalk

Not sure if everything is opensource, but a lot is. You might find the UI.

Do note that i am fairly certain this is copy-righted, and i'd really not recommend using it.

Copyright has little to no bearing on this given it's an MIT License project- you would be required to display the copyright notice (much like the Simple Machines copyright at the bottom of the current forum) but it allows full usage of the code including for commercial purposes so long as the original source is acknowledged. It's basically as Open Source as Open Source gets.

Why bother? The layout is garbage and you could find a free Bootstrap theme that has a better UI flow and better design.

Yeah, it's long overdue but it is being worked on constantly as we speak. Personally, I would rather wait until it's absolutely finished/watertight and has been tested thoroughly before being released. The last thing we need is a buggy forum ready to be exploited.

I tend to agree, in my opinion and personally I'm used to how the forum looks and works right now. And I believe many other users too.

So for the switch to be successful it needs to be seamless or almost wherever and in whichever way possible.

I am confident once everything is set we will all be enjoying a new forum but I rather wait until it's ready for prime time.

Check our Github if you guys have questions. There are issues and constant branches being worked on. Keep in mind that the entire epochtalk organization has repositories and not all code is in the main project.

Thank you for being patient.

Ouch, hasn't this project been under development for years now?  This project seems to be severely mismanaged if so.
