Probably that contract was made in terms of Bitcoin when the price was far low. U can get a contract now when bitcoin is ~300 USD and encash that bitcoin when it is ~30000 USD. Just make sure that your contract is in bitcoin, NOT USD.

Theymos will pay 1,500,000 $ for a new forum software? That sounds like he uses the best coders around that charge the highest prices. Guess that happens if you collect donations that are bound by purpose and you only can use it for this one purpose.

But thats a very special situation then. He has too much money and needs to find a way to spend it. Needing that money is a far way different thing.

That will never work. It will already stop where you want to sell someone a forum software for 2K. There are way enough free softwares out there and many are for free. Paying 2K is something way to specialized to get 100 customers for it.

Maybe i misinterprete you but that wont work.

Inspired by the ridiculously high price our provider of bitcoin forum is paying. I intend to make a kick starter campaign to create forum software. I would like your ideas of what to build and I intend to spend two years doing this.

Why Kick Starter? There are fewer people who look at the BitFunder website than KickStarter. I am open to other ideas but Kick Starter seems to be the way to go. So, I am considering rather than paying 200k for forum software people would be willing to pay say 2,000 to fund this campaign and for this level they will get a copy of the software.

So, I am asking you all to give me ideas which are important to you. I should add all of the requirements from here. What is missing from this forum? What is wrong with the forum?

Every thread will have a wiki-digest which consolidates all of the ideas into a neat package.
