Actually the timeframe on eligius matches the rented rigs perfect. Of course this is not an evidence for a scam but its still suspicious. I'd like to see 25-35 PH/s or even better some real hands on and reviews.

1 PH/s:
https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/16811/

0.5 PH/s:
https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/16071/

There are more rigs rented in this timeframe.

Remember: Buy it, when you see it.(reviewed by some BT-members like dogie and notlist3d)
And: Trust needs to be earned.

Completely agrees. Also if you see old enough forum reviews at the one tread (like few hundreds of messages including smart & polite seller replies) - and most of forum members showing photos like "Yes! This is me and my miner arrived" it is working too.

I noticed in this link that that they included their wallet number in Eligius pool

1.7 PH/s, wow. They were stating that they would make 1500 M20 and 500 M10, which is 35PH/s, so they aren't using all units, but what you think? Maybe testing some? This worker started to work at 2 january at stopped, and then restarted at 4 january....no one, with so much Hashes would stop mining, i think (when it is profitable to mine).

What u think?

probably rented on MRR at the EU location:

In some weeks we will see... Specting no delays... if it...  Cry
It smells SCAM since last 6 months...

Don't know....but that user from eligius is with 2.5PH/s, what is strange, he has 16% of the hasrate of eligius xD

If you go to the yesminers gallery section u see this:

http://i.snag.gy/T9Zcr.jpg

With this and the account at eligius reaching 2.5PH/s....maybe scam...but if it is a scam it got a little bit more elaborated that it was...(getting 2.5PH/s to prove is not a scam)

Well thats probably all the hashrate they are renting with the pre order money hahahahahah ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ seriously, i vote scam.

Don't believe that they are renting, that would be stupid, renting is not profitable, it was better if they saved the money.... (based on cex.io and hashnet prices). Just if they knew if someone would found the worker and see what he was doing (hashes) would make sense. But as you said from the beggining, if it is scam, who was doing the scam was stupid, using an address from other company, etc, why would they think about that?

I will go with the majority on this and say it is a scam.
Https is a secure way to make sure a company is legit because they pay hundreds of dollars($600+ from what I remember) to obtain that status every year.

I run a (legit) website, and have https (i have very limited personal info to collect, name address, but still https is good).  It costs me 1$ for the first year as a promo, and the certificates cost like 15$ a years or less.  So its not really a big expense, but there are hurdles and some level of verification.

But imho many indications for a scam

I have offered them to sign a NDA, take a look at the prototype and buy the whole batch if I am satisfied.
They refused the offer with strange arguments. You can draw your own conclusions.

Preorder+an electronic display for a bitcoin miner, seriously?
Not disputing the scam allegation, but those specific points you note aren't entirely unheard of.  Prospero X1 and X3 were also limited pre-order and used small tablets for their displays.  Same with the BFL (hehe) Bitforce 500 and I vaguely recall some other model. When they're double-digit cost out of China, it's a slick addition to any miner.

You can get a SSL certificate for very cheap. It's really not a good filter criteria for actually trusting a website. Of course NOT having it is certainty a criteria for NOT trusting it.

yes, but paypal has many points in the Company Conditions to say no to pay mony back

You do have to be carefull... You can only claim your money back for 180 days (if i remember correctly).
Since it's a pre-order, it might be their trick to keep you hanging for 180 days (with promises, lies, changes,...), untill they chargeback period from paypal is over...

Or it might be a trick to get a free 180-day loan.

Or it might be a fishing expedition for usernames/adresses/...

You CAN charge back after 180 days. You just have to call Paypal up by phone and explain.
Yeah you just go ahead and attempt that with your own money and not suggest it to anyone else because this is a pure scam.

Yeah...I am not trying it. I was just saying.

Scam. They are pretty using KNC's new chips specs to fool people. The irony is KNC aren't selling that chip but keeping it for their farm at the point in time.

Bitcoin Brothers are just idiots. Want to release a 500 Peta Hash farm and have way over 51% of the network.

Das heiß, dass auch Bitmain erst in einigen Monaten neue Miner ausliefern wird.

Nur 10 Tage später schreibt Bitmain  ganz anders.

Used miner purchases will receive coupons towards new miner purchases

Although this current batch of Antminer S5 listed for sale are used units, Bitmain performs quality control testing on every machine to ensure that it is in proper working order before shipping to consumers.

These machines have only been running for about 40 days in our farm, so there should not be a significant impact on the performance or the total life of the machines.

Bitmain would like to offer coupons to customers who bought S4+ or S5 recently to be used towards the future purchase of our next generation of mining machine.

At this time, we are unable to provide detailed information on the new machines or the size of the coupons, but please expect an official announcement in the near future.

well this likely will get erased too

here are some 'optimistic' folk buying 'vouchers' for the YESMINER on ebay ...they take paypal etc but you have to remember Ebay does not cover any 'virtual products' so
I assume that means coupons/bitcoin/ any other codes for games etc..so even if you paid for these vouchers under paypal and ebay policies...you'd likely not be protected and never imho  get your money back under ebay and paypal policies ..if this is all a scam..... I think that is how it works on the ebay/paypal end of things.

not saying yes miner is a scam...it may be the "real deal" but unfortunately at this point in time hard to tell to say the least...looks too much like previous duck decoys ...damn
hard to spot a real duck on pre-orders and setups like this Smiley

there is the feeding frenzy of folk trying to bid up 'yes miner discount vouchers' (ah to be young and foolish as a cryto newbie) Smiley the ebay link is below:

Quote
Hello Bitcoin forum

We have followed with interest your discussions here and would like to like to comment on some points.

1. A company to assess the location of the premises we find worrying. Of course, we could use large and representative rooms, but what for? Unlike many other companies everything is paid and above all affordable, not even our company cars are leased. We as a company prefer to invest in companies and investments in the development of products and services, including in the listed YesMiner M10 and M20 together with hosting. Also KnC did not start in the buildings where you now reside would be interesting to hear what would have triggered your visit to the early days of KnC for an echo.

2. We offer deliberately to PayPal in order to minimize the risk for our customers. The PayPal Buyer Protection are all on the safe side.

3. On eBay we just go through the verification process. If this is completed, we may also there to offer our products as a manufacturer. Unfortunately, pulls the whole bit, because we had to make more than 20 different documents available and these all are manually verified individually by eBay. These documents include, among others, all relevant documents relating to company documents to the owner and manager, descriptions of products and their components, as well as delivery notes and invoices / payments to individual components. So you see, there we are very detail-rayed in order to subsequently sell in compliance with those conditions with the eBay Sigel allowed.

4. We will try to be as transparent as possible and ask ourselves critical questions towards you. But see us after that we can not respond to every single question or criticism for reasons of time, after all, there is not just this forum or this platform. We also want to let the discussion take its course and they do not necessarily affect, provided that all abide by the rules. I think that's fair.

It doesnt makes too much sense to me.

It says Q1 2015 though. Huh

yeah, vaporware at best. their explanation for not releasing their hardware in Q1 2015 is hillarious:
http://bitcoinbrothers.de/press-redirect/newsletter/newsletter-3-bitcoin-brothers-berlin-next-steps-to-launch-exahash-innovation-award-iot

"You did, of course, notice we did not launch our massive services in Q1 this year, as we had originally planned (and so boldly announced on the huge display on Times Square in Manhattan, New York City). Market conditions played too much into our hands, and everything we had forecast (disappearance of hardware vendors, the flat-lining hashrate, emergence of the Blockchain as the true value of Bitcoin, awareness of the scaling issue of the Blockchain for massive growth, and the trending of wealth distribution in Bitcoin starting to mimic the fiat world) happened even faster than we had expected. These are several reasons making it very tempting to hold back on the launch - since we are planning a fairly massive impact, it readies the market for corrective and innovative measures."

20TH and 1500watt id say 100000000% scam theirs no miner close to braking 3TH yet without using 1,000watt of energy. We have bitmain with S4+ Hash Rate: 2570GH Power Consumption: 1480W. SO unless they have video footage and working units showing live status with a pool connected to provided by the users and videos showing connecting to pool and configuring units, its sure to be a scam so stay well away from it.

why sell miners the do 0.075 watts a gh?

if they are real  you would mine with them.

you would find a data center if your power was too high and mine there.

once you broke them in you would announce a sale  of some with perfect proof they work.

So the chance they are real is  soooo fucking small it can't be measured.

20 TH/s at 1500W?

There are the scam-dancers all over the page.
Since they're probably trying to hop on the claims of KnCMiner:  They're claiming 0.07J/Gh and their tech partner, AlChip, a 5000-core chip running at 800MHz ( http://ww3.sinaimg.cn/large/7c2c00e3jw1ervfedx421j20t412ttbd.jpg ), which if a 1:1 ratio would give 4Th/s.  4,000Gh/s * 0.07J/Gh = 280W.  20Th/s / 4Th/s = 5 chips.  5 * 280W = 1400W.. add a little extra for support components / a very efficient power supply, and the math roughly checks out.
Now, good luck publicly verifying KnC / AlChip's claims Smiley

( Just to make clear - in no way intended to legitimize this outfit )

Anything that pops up from a new unheard of vendor at this point is a scam in my eyes.  Especially with these numbers.

I will go with the majority on this and say it is a scam.
Https is a secure way to make sure a company is legit because they pay hundreds of dollars($600+ from what I remember) to obtain that status every year.

Anyone can create a website and many scams have.  You can create your own miner from home in just a few hours.  Don't be fooled, companies able to acquire this tech usually have some staking in the community.  Spondoolies was an exception to the rule and delivered.

The name a lone should tell you some thing is not right  THE YesMiner  Lmao and

Does the KNC  version even do 20 th per one miner ? .

I don't know i don't look at KNC stuff to much because I Know we as home miner that do it, would never get one of these if it is even real on our homes brand new unless we know some one.

I saw the same miner in adds some place else but with a diff name one was this forum and one of the exchanges that has a store he was offering to back a loan and all you need to have is a 680 Credit score and buying this on Ebay might tell you something i have yet to see something like this sell on Ebay i would trust them more then this guy , i don't trust them to much either .

And i would think it would cost more then what he is tiring to ripe some one off for if it is real , i would say something like this would sell for closer to 12 K at first but if he can get a few fools at the 5 k price he will make out like a fox in a hen house.

Currently the best efficinetcy available (to the public) is about 0.3 w/gh/s

If someone would be able to make a 0.075 w/gh/s miner, they would seek private investors --> this is a scam

yes, but paypal has many points in the Company Conditions to say no to pay mony back

Most likely they will hope some order in BTC, and that they win a few paypal from people waiting to long.

But unknown company... and pre-order.  They did not even do a rendering,  or prototype.  So we can safely say scam.

Looks a bit fishy... On the positive side: they accept paypal, and they're selling a physical product.
In theory, you should be able to claim your money back if they screw you over???
