Take time to read and learn about bitcoin and how it works. That is my advice to all those who are new to digital currency. You can get lots of nice materials and information at bitcoin discussion section here or google. i cant post link here yet. just just search for "about bitcoin" or "bitcoin presentation" you will learn so much and there you go. Welcome to bitcoin world.

welcome to the forum, first of all it's important to read the rules about what is "allowed" and not. After that my recommendation would be to start by understanding what the Blockchain is, and the technology behind it, how does it work and what problems does it solve, if you have understood the concept behind it and you believe that the blockchain is indeed the future, then you can go to the next step of trading or mining. If you'd like to stick to one of the two, I'd recommend you have better chances to start trading, because the mining part is currently at these times very difficult and not really profitable, you're unlikely to make any descent returns and the hardware costs to make descent returns are too high. If you'd like to get involved into trading, check the FX market (traditional currency exchanges) and read about how technical analysis works, then you'll find some patterns to determine how the price is changes, higher or lower and can slowly start becoming good at that. After having learned the FX markets you can move to crypto and BTC markets which are relatively more volatile and "dangerous" but you should be prepared more or less to handle that, once you understand FX markets.

Before even going into trading or mining or anything involving any sort of investments, do a lot of research. When I mean a lot, I really mean a lot. Focus first on learning about the technology. Don't focus on making profit for now.

I only suggest to you these three words for newbie like me. Read, Learn then Apply. its very helpful to you when you follow the rules and step. So goodluck to the both of us.

Much information can be downloaded from this forum through active participation. Personally, I recommend Youtube. I also heard about books, but I'm not convinced. First of all do not give up too fast because nothing will come out of it. Be patient and time will tell what you pull out of it.

Here such as you appear dozens, it would be necessary to create a separate branch for you, because the questions are unchanged. I would do the most topical questions and briefly told, well, it's moderators for a note.

welcome to the bitcoin community Smiley

Regarding your questions, it doesn't really make much of a sense to mine nowadays, unless you really want to get dedicated or want to get a hands-on experience about the software and underlying technology, so I'd stick with your second suggestion which is about trading. I would try to discourage you to trade on a daily basis (day trading) and encourage you to trade a few times a month, in this way you'll have a much better control of your inflows/outflows and won't have to deal with the entire stressful task of trading (to make a profit). What you want to do is find a local exchange, that accepts FIAT currency. That's very important, as you don't have any crypto's yet, so the exchange has to accept FIAT. Every country has its own regulation about exchange, so you'll have to find a suitable one for the country you are residing in (just google "exchange and your country"). After that you'll go through the KYC (know your customer) process and within minutes you'll be able to buy BTC. And then you'll be a real part of our integral community! Welcome again and enjoy the ride

I think the whole exchange system, however, is based on the knowledge that must be acquired and the practice itself should be applied when it has the appropriate knowledge, only after that he will get some more budget.

The moment you logged in here in the bitcointalk is already a great step in knowing bitcoin.

These are the trusted sites i'm using related to bitcoin:

1. coinmarketcap.com - this site shows the latest price of bitcoin together with almost all of the coins. In this site you can check the chart of every coin including bitcoin, volume, price action and many more.

2. Cryptomaniac (facebook page) - they provide quality education about bitcoin and related topic of it.

3. @secretsofcrypto (twitter account) - you can follow him/her if you want for substantial data about bitcoin

I hope this would help.

Since the links for newbies was given out to you already. And you had mentioned about trading and mining, let's go first with trading. In trading, you must be a continuous learner. You don't stop just because you gain something and you must open with different suggestion of the traders that are ahead to you. With mining, it's not profitable if you plan to mine bitcoins now. Why? Most of the people who mine bitcoins are just surrendering because of their lack of resource / rig. Only the mining farms can earn now there, try out mining with alt coins through GPU's.
