If Bitcoin was a private business what do you think the manager would think about such a suggestion even if it is a large market.

Luckily Bitcoin is not a private business.  Roll Eyes

The market will decide if this is good publicity:

Press 2012-6-13:

"Bitcoin, the currency of choice for on-line drug dealers and money laundring, has found a new niche; copyright infrigement and child porn.

CEO of the reborn Megaupload, Kim dotcom, is reviveing his business after last years bust by the FBI which left him with all his assets frozen. To circumvent monetary reprisals, he now accept Bitcoin for all his services on megaupload.
- "Megaupload coustomers have the added benefit of not having to worry about being traced through their transactions with Megaupload, no matter what kind of material they upload", Kim Dotcom says.

Do we need the above?

Yes, desperately.

It's certainly no worse than Silk Road with drugs and whatever else the corporate media claims one can buy there.. And Bitcoin should be used wherever it fits it's use case.

This client-side encryption model is awesome.  I remember looking for pastebin-like sites that did the same thing & it was kinda hard to find a good one.  Applying the same idea to binary is great.  I wonder what took so long for this to be standard.

Despite not having access to content, I'm sure the password will leak out for shared illegal content.  I wonder if this will still create the same situation for dotcom again.

Megaupload and Bitcoin is a match, but also a terrible idea publicity wise!

If Bitcoin was a private business what do you think the manager would think about such a suggestion even if it is a large market.

Do you guys think that one of the pending  hardware wallet producers would give away promotional wallets for free to drug dealers and educate them about Silk Road as a publicity stunt?

So it seems that megaupload is coming back.. this is not recent news..

Their new domain will be http://me.ga  ( Which re-directs atm to http://kim.com/mega/ )

So far no word on bitcoin..

For those who can't access the site due to traffic load, here's some key info:

Easy Privacy
In the past, securely storing and
transferring confidential information
required the installation of dedicated
software. The new Mega encrypts and
decrypts your data transparently in your
browser, on the fly.
You hold the keys to what you store in the
cloud, not us.

Online Mega Manager
Before, you had to install the Mega Manager on every
computer you used Megaupload from. Now,
high-speed parallel batch uploading and
downloading with resume capability are integral
parts of the Mega website.

Live Global Cloud
File System

Before, you had to create and update file
folders manually. Now, you have a true
cloud file system at your fingertips,
including cross-account folder sharing
for easy online collaboration.
You can even access your cloud drive as a
file system mount or drive letter!

Multi-centric data
warehousing

Before, we operated only a handful of storage nodes
located in expensive premium data centers.
Now, thanks to encryption, we can connect a large
number of hosting partners around the world
without worrying about privacy breaches.
Our servers will be closer to our customers. This will
result in faster data transfers.

MEGA IS LOOKING FOR INVESTORS

We have raised sufficient funds to cover the launch, but we would like to provide Mega free of charge for as long as possible. If you would like to be part of the success story, please get in touch.
