Ill entertain alt coins but I'm sticking with bitcoin for now. I personally think GPUs are still viable, all that garbage about power usage is horseshit. If you wanna save some money turn off the extra tvs and lights in your house and youll make your money back. Its beyond me why people are turning off their rigs, especially when you cant get good asics yet.  I view electricity the same as i view gasoline your gonna buy it doesnt matter. Plus i actually need 3 dual output cards for my screen so its all a wash for me....

You aren't being rational. Mining using a GPU takes extra power. While turning off the TV and lights will save money, mining will dump those savings down the toilet. You can think of using electricity like using gasoline, but don't tell me it doesn't matter if you drive an extra 100 miles a day.

If you want to mine using a GPU because it's fun, that fine. But, don't be confused about the fact that you are paying extra for those bitcoins.

So i turn off and wait a year for some joe shmoe at "jerk your cock labs" to send me some hardware when in the mean time I could have made over 700 in that year and smacked down punks in COD and resell the shit.

Well I respect your decision to stick with bitcoin.  Just realize that you are wrong if you think mining Bitcoin with them is more viable than mining alt-coins and trading them for Bitcoin.

But to each their own!

Happy Birthday!

Read up about alt-coins, or think about pointing your GPUs at LTC/FTC/Middlecoin, as they are all more profitable than GPU mining on Bitcoin.

Hi guys my name is Ryan and I finally registered. I have lurked quite a bit and found the wealth of information here very useful. I wanted to introduce myself and give some background. I am an IT professional in the manufacturing sector specifically coffee. I do controls, automation, and IT for a large coffee company in Florida. I have been mining for awhile now with a nice GPU rig and plan to add some block erupters and eventually some ASIC devices when and if they become readily available...readily available means I call or log on to your website and place an order and three days later it arrives at my doorstep. Also I think I might be the only one that actually has monitors hooked up to his system. I have 6 because I also trade the foreign exchange. For now I am exploring the economy of bitcoin, and mining what I can. I am also interested exchanging coffee for bitcoins. Ill do .03 BTC per lb. Oh and it happens to be my birthday today presents accepted in BTC...lol 1A5pTyHuLuo3ec3BYYT4nkgtE87VFaVDyq

Stay Cool and happy mining,
Ryan
