lol

5,000kh/s takes approximately 2000W of AMD power. That is one hot PS4.

Console hardware is never anywhere near current PC hardware, even on release.

To me, if the program was optimized I think you could potentially get upwards of 5000KH/s. Am I exagerating?
Yes, quite a lot.
How much will it be?
Something around 300 - 350 Kh/s.

why would you use a console to mine? Sure it has great hardware, but you'll probably destroy it within a week if you try mining with it Smiley

try the search function

you dont really have any clue what you are talking about

ps4 uses 2011 graphics tech and does maybe 300kh/s on a good day

thats if sony allowed such code and someone bothered to write it
No i do not, just a idea..sorry if i offended you whit it.

Sony isn't going to put this on their store, ever.

Maybe if someone could somehow make it run through a HTML5 page on a browser maybe.

Xbox One is supposed to eventually make every console a dev console where you can create and test your own games. I don't remember if the PS4 is also doing that but if so a open source miner that could run on that may in fact be possible.

Either way I expect Sony would change their TOS so that voids the warranty if it doesn't already somehow.

If the speed is anywhere decent though having a PS4 miner would get a coin some mining attention from people who normally can't mine.

I had this idea today

PS4 are x86 processors running amd/radeon apu technology.

If a program was designed to use the full capability of either of these, both gpu and cpu and turn them towards mining, how much performance in KH/s would you see? 6600? more?

To me, if the program was optimized I think you could potentially get upwards of 5000KH/s. Am I exagerating?

The PS4 is reported to have a slightly better graphics chip than the xbox one, on top of which it also uses the faster GDDR5 memory for everything, unlike the Xbox one that uses standard DDR3. However the xbox one also has the windows 8 kernel built in, which could possibly allow for easier programming?

I believe, of the two the PS4 would be the better option. If a program could be coded with an easy to use gui interface that allowed you to enter the url for the pool and the port, your workers username and pass, and it took care of the rest, optimized to use all of the hardware to its advantage. This may become the "FPGA" for Litecoin mining. A $400 box that you download an app for and enter your information and off you go.

(Of course the questions come up of, how much would the liscensing fee's cost? If sony would even allow such a thing to be done. How much of the system is dedicated solely to the dashboard and cant be used at all? How much performance would you get out of it? How long would the hardware last running 24/7 365 at full tilt?)
Or some hacker made a illegal mining app Also who would code such a beast?

Discuss.
