An eye-catching headline for sure, but you will only see a tiny fraction of it once you read the small print.
Yeah like I said if I make 1$ in bonus I'll be amazed. I was also dissapointed to see that I was right about the 200% crypto bonus it just doubles the total you can win not the earned amount for each 27.5 points. So in short I am glad that I already knew rake based bonuses for deposits are not usually something I am going to get a big chunk of.

What I did forget to mention as I had to look into it was this 20 days card thing they are doing. You have to log in every day and get a chance to "spin" a card it gives you between .50 and 6$ for a total of 50$ after 20 days. This is all part of the new account sign up bonus, with a minimum 25$ deposit, so far it appears to be working for me and goes right into my balance.

^  Play 6+ Holdem at Stars.  It's veery addicting.  Been playing at nano stakes.  Cheesy
Anyway...  What sucks at sites like ACR is the site converts your BTC to USD.  That's fine if BTC price is trending down.  If it's trending up, you're losing value.
I know this wasn't directed at me but I've been dabbling between the cash and tourneys. I'm not exactly laser focused on any style, or particular game (turbo, deep stack, 6 or 9 max) might be an explanation for times when I get completely owned. That or it's just not my day lol. I had a great streak on th ego for a while before moving over playing micro 6 max cash - not really sure why I stopped, lol.

I have to say I'm the opposite, the BTC conversion to Fiat is a big reason I chose ACR over a crypto only casino. I don't want to be thinking about +/- value of my bankroll on top of losses and gains in playing. I say this because I'm no BTC whale who can live their life in Satoshis. So my deposit was simply what I would have done in Fiat anyways, and taken out of what I would have sold from my BTC. I did try the other route of playing with BTC and it just wasn't for me at this point in my life.

i used to play on ACR as well. it is a very good site and is running for many years already. But i am a pokerstars addict. So only play over there when they have a special tournament series.
But its nice they offer crypto deposits. would be a bomb if pokerstars would do the same

That bonus also caught my eye, so I looked in to it a bit more. Not quite as good as it seems on first glance.

Quote
Your bonus will be released in increments of $1 per every 27.5 Award Points you generate through your play at our real money tables.

Quote
Award Points are awarded at a rate of 5.5 APs for each $1 in rake generated

Their rake is between 1-5% depending on the stakes: https://www.americascardroom.eu/play-poker-for-real-money/rake/

So to earn $1 bonus you need to generate 27.5 Award Points, which is achieved by generating $5 in rake. At a rate of 5%, this means spending $100 in pots, or at 1% means spending $500. That's a lot to gamble with to earn a single dollar. So if you deposited $500 to get the full $1000 bonus, you would need to wager somewhere between $100,000 and $500,000 to "release" the full bonus. And you only have 60 days to do it.

An eye-catching headline for sure, but you will only see a tiny fraction of it once you read the small print.

If I'm correct, this Americas Card Room is not regulated in the US, right?
I would have to double check but I believe it's Costa Rica.

I'm not sure how they can verify the deposit that you would make on the site
They wouldn't reasonably be able to apply that bonus stipulation to the account funding method. All the better to make sure you actually provide them proper information when registering you account, they do ask all the regular verification info - name, address, etc. I think this is just inline to prevent stolen credit cards or "borrowing" from family members. When I funded I chose the dollar amount I wanted and they gave me a price in BTC, didn't seem to far off but I didn't even check against Preev lol.

Yeah the promo was a nice little surprise when I got there. They have a few that seem promising so it was a good time to register I guess. The 200% for a crypto bonus was cool to see, but you have to spend a ton of money to receive your full bonus. I can't remember it's something like 25 spent towards rake to earn 1$ of bonus.
I was going to check with support or find something to see if that means though my crypto deposit earns back 2$ at that rate as opposed to 1; but I doubt it. For me any bonus like this is almost irrelevant, my direct rake payments are small playing micro-stakes poker so I'm unlikely to see much. Either way getting something back is always nice.

There is like 1 or 2 features I might not have found yet or don't exist so that's a bit annoying but I think I can get over it. Might just have to pay more attention

This would be a new site for me, too, if I were ever to play. It's great seeing them as a supporter of cryptocurrency in general. A lot of new players should take advantage of the promo that they have, free 100% of your first deposit, and remember that the minimum is $25. I'm not sure how they can verify the deposit that you would make on the site

• The name on your account must match the name on the credit card(s) or other deposit method used to make the deposit or the bonus will be void

It's one line in the T&C that they have, and I'm not sure how they would be able to verify that when using crypto.

So I have to admit I'm fairly pumped after yesterday. I've been playing poker casually without any real investment apart from some time, and a couple drinks for fun going on a couple of years now. Bare minimum of talent and probably more than a few notes from other players that would describe me as a donk for some of my absolute shit bluffs over the years... there have been more than a few... dozen, maybe more lol. That was fine with me if anything might have been helpful as I've begun putting in some effort at playing a better game all around.

Where I originally played was an easy choice I wanted to be able to fund the site easily in Canada, and then have the option to play on my phone from time to time when I traveled; not much of a concern anymore. Funny enough it was my second choice that got my money as they were the only place I could fund a bankroll probably a bank issue. So for years now I've paid an extra 1.50  + a percentage, and then get burned on the conversion from CAD to USD.

Well no more my friends. Yesterday I signed up on Americas Card Room, and was funding my account in no time. I sent payment and when I was ready to play an hour or so later there it was in all it's glory. Long story short I chose to gamble as an adult, sent my funds without having to use a 3rd party payment processor, and paid .04$ CAD to do so. I don't know how I missed this for so long but it's not something I looked into that much I tend to get comfortable and not shop around to much.

The other bonus is that at least with gambling for myself. I want to do that in a FIAT denomination. I was super happy to be able to buy in with BTC and follow a USD bankroll. I look forward to also being able to withdraw in BTC down the road if/when I build it up enough to bring home some of the winnings. Again that's something the payment processor before took a cut from. Side note night one went really well - I play microstakes tourneys so nothing amazing but 2 entered and a 1st and 2nd finish.

I think it's important to constantly shed light on the businesses that still actively accept and help BTC grow.
