i too meant the area a person is in

trying to scan someones own back garden wont get them rich. scanning their neighbourhood wont either. this is because where your house sits has already had excavators and builder in that area digging holes and fitting in pipes and landscaping the land to make it flat.

'treasure' is normally found in remote places people dont usually go/live near. places that have been untouched.

trying to find 'treasure' in places where you ive usually means your on someones property and have to get involved in their issues of who actually owns anything found

EG
if someone dug a hole and found oil. the oiis not the searchers right to keep. its the land owners property.
if its a old bomb (as you mention places of war) the authorities will take custody of it
same for lost jewels and treasure chests of coins. authorities try to find the original owners of it.. or it ends up in a museum where it was 'gifted' or put on a 100year lease to the museum

you will be surprised how limited and non factual the myth of 'finders keepers' is

so much safer if you going to run a "business" which involved filing papers and tax reports and all the bureaucracy of being a "business" .. you might aswell make it worth your effort to treat the business as offering a service to others. and then just to the 'treasure hunting' as your hobby

searching for things in your area.. sorry wont work to get wealthy as a treasure hunter

most developed area has been dug p by developers and all your gonna find is sewer pipes.
and you only found out it was a sewer pipe after paying out money to dig the hole

a more constructive usecase for such a device is to buy one and then offer your services to companies and people who want to find things.

that way you can have a constant income from many sites that you may not personally have had access to or the right to even step on as just a hobby treasure hunter.
you also know your getting paid for your time. there is no if's or buts.

take the OP's example of going places where rich people used to live or war area's
what he isnt thinking about is who now owns the property. and if found who actually gets the rights to it. most treasure hunters end up only getting a finders fee. so instead of randomly scanning and digging holes in hope.. contract your services for others and take a income no matter if anything is found or not

Hello franky1. Thanks for the input.

By ''your area'' I meant the current area you in. There are millions of areas in the world.

Also, treasure hunting can get you wealthy. I know this because I have a friend in real life who makes living out of this.

Offering services with the scanning machine listed in the article can be a more stable form of business.
