I don't think about the 'land mass' being a requirement but they do have mass, but they are not recognized as a country. They claim to be recognized by the United Kingdom and what not but they actually aren't, and what's the point of being a king if you are only supposed to rule 50 people, and 1/5th of them already being your family. What's the point?

I don't think Sealand is actually recognized as a country, since a country needs to have actual land mass to be considered a country.

The european union is an irreversible abomination, it cannot be reversed directly, its a cleptocratic dictatorship, that steals people from all around europe and gives it to the oligarchs, while rabid and greedy socialists beg for even higher tax increases and more welfare.

this is potentially groundbreaking news, but what is actually on that land?  Are there roads going through/around it?  Is the "president" living there?  Sure it's a great idea, but he is going to basically need everyone to volunteer their time and efforts to form this legislative process he has shown on the site.  Plus the idea of no military is great (obviously that isn't even an option though).  What happens when an actual military/militia/other group threatens harm to the "citizens"?  At the very least a  national defense group sounds necessary.

So going to work wherever You want, travel trought all the countries, do business without tribute with other countries etc. for you means that it is a "freedom destroyer".

I absolutely agree with your statement. But I doubt that Liberland will achieve the freedom it wants. The European Union is a purely freedom destroyer. Thus, the EU must be destroyed before there could be real freedom

Judging by the pictures, its funny how the design reminds me of Jaque's Fresco designs on a Resource Based Economy city, but the ideology of Liberland is the total opposite to an RBU.

He got arrested fro trespassing on the land so it looks like this idea was a failure before it even got started. These things always run into trouble. You'd be better off buying your own island or creating one somewhere but that costs a lot of money and still can run into legal trouble.

And I think, supported by latest news, it is much more likely to succeed than many ppl think. It seems it actually has support both from Serbia and Croatia and possibly many more states. The fact is all the regimes are screwed and even the ruling class itself needs some place to store the money they all stole from tax payers. And having tax heaven as a neighbour - I also understand while ordinary Serbia and Croatia citizens support it too, taking into account how fucked their economies are 25 years after the fall of Soviet block. EUSR is only making thing worse for ordinary folks.

Just read an article about Liberland in the news. The founder of Liberland has recently stated that there are currently no inhabitants. There is only one old unlivable building on the countries area that is more than 100 years old. And there are more than 300k of applications for a citizenships from where 2000-3000 people are choosen based on their education. Sorry, but this project seems really crazy 

Yeah,  who knew creating an entire country was little more than declaring you own something that is in dispute between other claimants, and sketching some SimCity pictures on top of it before 'the world'  can catch up to your cunning ambition?   Check and mate,  statists!  Now if you will kindly hurry up and recognize us in your little club you can waste no time getting us the dirty banker development and investment money you obviously are dying to spend here so we can build this shit and show you how independent we are from your antiquated systems and mouldering ideals. 

A few hundred registering online doesn't mean anything. How many of this 200,000 will actually move to Liberland? It will take many years, if not decades to develop this swampy piece of land. And by the time they develop it and make it inhabitable, Croatia will just annex it, just like they annexed the Republic of Serbian Krajina in 1995.

I had a dream to start building crypto villages one day so this is a start and a bold statement so for me Kudos to this Gent for creating this concept and little country. At least he is trying to create a digital parallel economy which might work a whole lot better than fiat and boom and bust economies.

I think this is a great concept, but I'm not really sure if it will work... Since they have no military it's easy to attack them and reclaim the land.

Not even the rich that want to store their wealth without any regulations and under secretive banking policies will want to use Libertard to store their monies, when they have Caiman Islands, Switzerland etc. It just sounds too corny to begin with.

If this "state" is not offically acknowledged by the European Union they don't bother about Croatia or Serbia annexing Liberland.

Serbia can't touch.. but Croatia can. That is because, as per the internationally recognized boundaries, Liberland is a part of Croatia. It is the Croatians, who are refusing to take ownership. But remember that they can change their stance at anytime, and it does not require prior permissions from the European Union.

It's going to become a resort for rich families to store their wealth with low taxes as some pointed, thats what I personally see this project turning into. The country is in between of pretty conflicting areas to both. I wouldn't feel safe there. It would have been cooler if they did it on some island.

Only few houses? Why the are proclaimed themselves 'a new republic'? This is really no sense (If I can say my personal opinion). If there is not services like: hospitals, banks, schools etc... they cannot proclaim a new republic (or am I wrong?).

Serbia wants a border on the middle of the river , and Croatia doesn't want that because of some other parts . So according to Serbia, Liberland is in Croatia, and according to Croatia Liberland is Serbia.

So its nobody's land and he claimed it which he has every right to do .

Unless you are talking about a giant size economy, bitcoin role will be more towards like an experiment in a totally new environment. Nevertheless it still means something if it gets adopted as a legal tender in the state.

Vit Jedlicka, a member of the conservative Party of Free Citizens in the Czech Republic, is the self-appointed president of Liberland, which he says sits on unclaimed terra nullius territory wedged between Serbia and Croatia. The 3 sq. mi. “country,” where taxes are optional and a military is nonexistent, does not “interfere with the territory” of the two states, according to Liberland’s website.

“The objective of the founders of the new state is to build a country where honest people can prosper without being oppressed by governments making their lives unpleasant through the burden of unnecessary restrictions and taxes,” reads a statement announcing the creation of the new country this week. The country’s motto is: “To live and let live.”
